Wrote a review of the #callofcthulhu scenario None More Black, written by Brian M. Sammons.
A neat hook and perfectly playable scenario, but with the bones of something greater, just begging to be beefed and let loose.

You must be running out of these by now 😅
I'm glad you're getting use out of them, and of course hope your players are having fun!
Review of the system-agnostic Lovecraftian SF scenario, The Sentinels, from the Dark Space collection.
A nasty little scenario that doesn’t actually give players much to do, but can be worth experiencing due to its very short run time.

Review of the #DeltaGreen community scenario Telling the Bees, written by Charles Perryman for the 2021 shotgun scenario contest.
A weird but easy to run little scenario with enough tools to adjust complexity and lethality without much extra work.

Way back when @mjrrpg.bsky.social ran this for us. It's a solid fun scenario and I'm running tonight at 9PM UK time.
One space left. It will run about an hour and a quarter.
There will be "COFEE TO DIE FOR"
Comment if you want in. I dig Flash Cthulhu muchly.
Player sign-ups for the free online Miskatonic Repository Con are officially open! Games went fast last year, so hop in and sign up for the fun! The Con will run October 17-19.

Yeah, more so the 'how.' I of course do love those three you mentioned! But I'd like to read some, I don't l own, theory? if that's the right word.
I know how to do academic reviewing, but some in depth ideas for making cultural reviews that aren't purely functional would be cool.
So, I've been writing #ttrpg scenario reviews for a bit now, but I realised I've never actually thought about learning how to, well, write interesting reviews.
Any recommendations for articles/books/videos/podcasts/whatever that go deeper into making reviews actually entertaining/engaging?
Review of the Japanese #callofcthulhu scenario, Obikiri Bridge, written by Nanamine Kizashi and Gomi Hirufumi .
A neat little story but feels like a visual novel stuffed into a CoC scenario without allowing for much, well, roleplaying.

Review of the Japanese #callofcthulhu scenario, Child Replay, written by game-developer Sanada Makoto and Studio Arkham’s Satsukino Uso.
An unsettling but touching svenario, and made into something special thanks to an extremely well used ‘gimmick.’

Review of the Japanese #CallofCthulhu scenario, Cloud Jaws – Hell’s Fleet (クラウド・ジョーズ~地獄の艦隊~), written by Nanamine Kizashi.
An absolute madhouse of a scenario. Slightly rigid in places, but easy enough to massage into more freeform, B-movie craziness.

Good on ya, Nick.
Flash Cthulhu Year 1 bundle is further discounted during @drivethrurpg.com's Christmas in July sale.

Wrote a review of the #Callofcthulhu scenario Forget Me Not, written by Brian M. Sammons.

A scenario with an incredibly strong opening half and an unfortunately underdeveloped tailing half, but overall held up by its nasty and memorable premise.

The Kickstarter for Cosmic Dark, my game of weird space horror, has just over 24 hours to go, with stretch goals ahead from @mytholder.bsky.social, @sdorward.bsky.social, @gejwatts.bsky.social and more.

Wrote/recorded a narrative replay of my my Call of Cthulhu scenario, Be Good Neighbours.
What I call a narrative replay is simply an session recap/AAR/whatever, but in prose, and ‘narrative’ tacked on because I’m pretentious.

Thanks! I'll run 「帯切橋」と「クラウドジョーズ」、また「チルド・リプレイ」for the Weekend With Good Friends Convention.
It's an online con for mostly horror games (and mostly CoC) from June 12-15. Player sign ups on May 22.
If you have time, take a look on the Good Friends of Jackson Elias Discord server:

Aaaaand purchased the 8 scenario set.
Besides 七伏ケープタワー, have you played any of the others from that set? Any you recommend in particular?
It's been a year since KADOKAWA introduced us to the new play space for Call of Cthulhu, The Nanafuse Town.
This modern Japan setting has been a popular base of many quick-fun scenarios from the Japan official, Studio Arkham creator team & CoC loving fans.

Just ran Fruit from the Dust by @mjrrpg.bsky.social from the Flash Cthulhu bundle. Only slightly over the 1 hour intended time. And despite the expressions of disbelief from the players, it really was the first time I've ever run a game of Call of Cthulhu.
www.drivethrurpg.com/en/product/5...
I had trouble getting that one under an hour, you did better at pacing it than I did!
Glad you had fun with it, and an honour you used it for your first CoC run!
With my first #callofcthulhu scenario, Branches of Bones passing the platinum threshold on @drivethrurpg.com recently, I thought it would be a good opportunity to do a write up of what I've learned creating and selling a title on the Miskatonic Repository.

Fancy a quicky? Last week has been a busy one for the entire team, and one of us even had to go abroad for work (Roll for Sanity) Fortunately, Michael Reid came to the rescue with his Flash Cthulhu series, which is a stroke of genius in our modern time of juggling work, family, and hobbies. Flash Cthulhu is aimed at the busy Keeper who needs something quick to prepare and run. This is perfectly suited for a demonstration game, but in our opinion, it really shines as a palate-cleanser for a group of players between campaigns or systems, or in the instance that if a couple of regulars has to cancel on a session with short notice. Rather than point out a specific scenario, we would like to guide you towards the bundle containing 12 of these wonderful little scenarios. Each of them has everything you need in an easy-to-digest 6-page package. Designed to be run in short 1-hour sessions, they are tightly and brilliantly written and even includes pre-gen Investigators! Setting varies wildly in both location and year. Ranging from a 15000 BCE scenario (yes you read that right) to the classic era and into both modern and SF times. Quite frankly there is something for everyone. The bundle is less than $12 for at least 12 hours of fun, and we can't recommend it warmly enough. Grab your own copy of the bundle here: https://tinyurl.com/yzdn5kts #CallofCthulhu #TTRPG #MiskatonicRepository #Chaosium

Review of the Japanese #callofcthulhu scenario No Breaking Off, by Uchiyama Yasujirou, from Cthulhu 2020.
A linear scenario that trades player agency for a somewhat unique structure, spooky atmosphere, a neat set piece, and weird relationship stuff.
