Vet here. Avian flu has about 90 percent case mortality in cats, and cats mostly contract it from ingesting infected wildlife, raw milk, or commercial raw food.

Yes. But they do have extremely close contact with their owners. So, if this goes H2H, people will be transmitting it to their cats. We vets will start seeing it in cats that don’t fit the pattern of going outside to hunt or being fed raw meat.
