Hooded Mergansers #ducks diving for frogs on the pond this morning. They made their annual appearance this week - a little early this year. #birding #kitsap No sightings of a male yet.

I found this birding book along the side of the road on the Tamiami trail in the Everglades on 8/25/25. It is so well loved with sightings going back decades. If you're a birder (I am not) please spread the word and hep me find the owner so they can be reunited

I think we have far more than last year. We also have had a pair of crossbills for a year (a first), but no white throated for a few years and fewer golden crowned this the last 5 years.
It is dry as of last weekend. We have a few man made to keep the bids around. The wire covers on your baths are a great idea.
