Why doesn’t this government enact a brilliant piece of legislation - a tax on bringing luggage into the breakfast room of a hotel? It will either raise revenue, or curb what I consider to be an abhorrent practice which is on the increase. Yes I am a grumpy old man.

I am not a lawyer (and there are so many here that no way am I going to give a definitive answer) but it is my understanding that long marriage / needs case = everything is in the mix, and pre-marital pensions should not be ring fenced . But now wait with trepidation for lawyers to castigate me.

Three times in the last week I have been asked by wife’s instructed solicitors to look at pensions in financial remedy proceedings, all of them I am told needs cases, all long marriages. And in all 3 cases I am told wife cannot be persuaded to include the value of H”s premarital pensions.
