Things from this week.
A little over two centuries ago, June 16, 1816, Mary Shelley created Science Fiction (and some say the Gothic Genre) when she wrote "Frankenstein". Around 150 years later, Lucille Ball championed a script that no one wanted, paid for the pilot and fought for the money enough to get "Star Trek" made. She also had a hand in "Westinghouse Desilou Playhouse", which gave Rod Serling the big break he needed to get "The Twilight Zone" produced. Today we salute the Mother of Science Fiction and the Godmother of Popular Science Fiction. (photos of Mary Shelley and Lucille Ball follow)

Ernest Hemingway once said,
“In our darkest moments, we don’t need advice.”
What we truly need is the power of human connection: a quiet presence, a gentle touch, or the smallest gesture that reminds us we’re not alone.
All of them are doing it willfully, without any government orders. Fascist accelerationists.

Look for the beauty and peace in the little things that happen everyday.
Glad I get to come home to this potato every day. She drives me crazy but she's always there for me. We don't deserve dogs.
Ambassador Picard (episode Future's End) talking to Admiral Riker Picard says Dammit, Will, I'm telling you I was there! On that desert planet! There were worms under the sand the size of small freighters! Instead of warp drive people did drugs and did it with their minds like the Traveler! Everyone drank their own sweat and pee and my eyes glowed blue, Will! Blue!
I'm trying this new platform, let's see how entertaining and ad free it is
