Altadena Arts Magnet's playground blacktop is being used as a parking place for the heavy equipment that's spending all day on lead and asbestos filled ash. What is the remediation plan, PUSD? I hope it's not just hosing off the asphalt.

Although the campus of Altadena Elementary seems to have survived, the whole surrounding area was destroyed making it unlikely it will open this year. Many parents are worried that the district is prioritizing the needs of the charter schools over those of the local public school.
So many young families in Altadena, so many families with generations on the same street. The kind of place where you run into people you know everywhere and the people at the hardware store always know (and have) exactly the screw you need. It's only been a few days, but I miss my home so much.
