Of course, I keep forgetting nobody reads anymore.
The limestone guy's grandson reached out... I get press releases aplenty through @thirdcoastrvw.bsky.social. But you'd think more purveyors of strangeness would reach out to Grandpa Oddball, wouldn't you?
I never expect fame and fortune after publishing a piece, but it'd be nice if there was some sort of follow-up. At the very least, I'm surprised folks don't reach out to me with pitches.
This has been another episode of "Old Gen X Fart Remembers..." Tune in again next week when Dan recalls playing Atari 2600 console games.
Listening to cassettes today. Bought this at WaxTrax in 1989.
If you DO vote against your best interests throughout your life and you're not literally cognitively impaired... you're just a prideful sucker, and you're determined to die a prideful sucker. It doesn't matter how many progressives kiss your ass.
The idea of the voter who votes against themselves again and again over decades because they're quite put out by progressives is poppycock pushed by those in power. It's designed to pit people against one another, and it works too well.
It doesn't matter if progressives use kid gloves with poor white working-class folks in red states, because, I suspect, they're either voting Republican if it kills them, by God, or their votes for Dems aren't being counted.
Most of this article isn't about the head-patting title.
Need a Chicago kid's show with the kids posed in front of it à la "Zoom."
Wish it was clearer and brighter, but it was a one-handed, zoomed-in shot taken while driving 70 mph.

Greetings from Chicago!
CHA-CHA-CHÄTTERDÄMMERUNG!!! A TALE OF LOVE, DANCING, AND THE DEATH OF GODS!
But what if it’s bad? Then I’m screwed.
You’re doing good work building happy memories.
Lupino poses outdoors in dark blouse and long, lighter, crinkled skirt. Caption: FASHION The American Indian influence comes bursting onto the spring fashion scene in a riot of color. A la Navajo, Ida Lupino chose this taffeta skirt for dinner wear, duplicate of which is sold in smart cotton fabric at leading shops throughout the country for an unbelievably small sum under ten dollars. Crinkled effect is achieved through soaking material and wrapping it around a broomstick to dry. You'll get your broomstick with your skirt. A dark velvet jerkin-like top is a smart compliment but almost any type of blouse can be used.

Pretty frustrating that the New York Times is crediting AP with uncovering the existence of Aadam’s archive when I reported on it 15 months prior. chicagoreader.com/music/gossip...
Maybe it’s just me, but if your team is demolishing the other, cheering like you’re at the Colosseum is unseemly.
I really don’t miss the grade school soccer dads bellowing at their kids to destroy everyone in their path.
Really tired of the opposing team parent at every game who claps a bit too long and loudly and screams over every goal, even if their team is a dozen points ahead. It’s off-putting.
Too much bird tuchus on my feeder.

Telling another cowboy to stand down:
Well? How did I get here?
I believe "sodden" and "soppy" might have occurred to me in passing.
Though it reminds me of a headline WBEZ once employed that suggested people don't give enough credit or thought to revolving doors.
Yes. Bone dry of dreams. That's me.
