A dirty yellow. But still primarily yellow

No surprises and it keeps everything efficient!
This Palantine Enforcer is done.
Now to try to remember how I did it all so I can copy it 9 more times ๐ค

2 methods I use them mostly.
Dampen slightly & apply paint just like you would with a drybrush.
Or in the case of Shadow Brushes: stippling & some layering.
I use washes A LOT and I apply paint over fresh paint & while still wet, acting as a shading medium. Like an Auto-blending technique.
I mainly use a set from synthetic PearlEssence, and a pack of super cheap ones off Amazon.
Slightly dampen Large Round Brush for priming
Foundation Brush for stippling.
Eyeliner brush for smaller stippling/scratches
Shadow brushes (many different angle types) I use for everything but priming.
I took inspiration from Retro Modern Sci-fi art from the 1970s, which uses the same teal/yellow/white color palette. But added in that Necromunda dystopian grimness :D
People frequently ask if I use Enamel paints, and I do not. My method of painting is a combination of makeup brushes and 0-sized detail brushes, where I wet blend colors using washes and wet brushes.
For this particular unit, I am using Pro Acryl Paints & Army Painter Strong, Soft, and Dark Tones.
I feel like it may not be grimy enough, but just by a little bit. Cant have it too grimy considering the armor, or too bright. But maybe I'm just overthinking it? lol
I need to finish the leather, trim the base, finish the backpack and I'm not 100% happy with the yellow clothes yet. But this one is far along.
Due to life and other responsibilities I'm off to a rough start this year with painting projects. But here is my current one.
WIP on Palanite Enforcers for a Necromunda campaign I'm in starting in a few weeks.

Fairly new one from them as well. It's one of their USA Resin cast minis.
Reaper Minis: Undead Lady
She seems nice...
Another project request finished. One more to go!

Hopefully, it all turns out all right. If not, contact the Mechanicus, and maybe they can hook you up with some bionic replacements?
I couldn't paint the eyes under a reflective surface. Hell I tried. I tried a lot. But at least they are happy with the results anyway! Maybe in a year I'll have photos of the whole plane he will be sitting in too.

Exactly the opposite for me. The process, the journey, is the fun part. The end is something to be admired, but not the goal.
Once that journey has ended its time to move on to the next. I move on if I'm not enjoying the process either, or the end result suffer too.
Because other ppl have seen this on other platforms and asked... No I do not use an airbrush, but no traditional paint brushes are used either.
I use makeup brushes. Dampening them slightly to prevent the acrylic paint from clumping.
Much improved on the fleshtones. The inner workings of the hat and the coat have begun. Nothing is complete yet.
Painting eyes inside those goggles is going to be the real pita though...

Got confirmation on what the Plane is. Its called a British RTF Nieuport 17. So I was way-way off.
An update so far on this. So much more to do!
1/6 Scale RC. Big Chonker.
I very briefly saw the plans, but I couldn't begin to remember exactly what they were. Sentinel, Vigilent, or Auster is my guess, but I could also be very wrong. It was a 1 seater and a very early ww2 boxy prop plane.
Thanks for the tip! This is a big help
I've been commissioned to paint a RAF WW2 pilot for a large scale model airplane.
I don't have much experience painting at this scale. But I'll give it a shot!
But he does look suspiciously like Jeremy Clarkson...

Dropping yellow!
Something yellow!
Rather than painting (or even sharing pictures) I assembled a box of Malestrain Genestealers. Then used a sonic cleaner on about 30 old Chaos Marines, who are yet another step closer to a rebasing and a fresh paint job!
The fumes from Isopropyl Alcohol were a +
Fun times are to be had indeed!
Not 8 Grots in a coat together like I was hoping a Warboss to be. But it'll do.
I've taken to starting Stoat Community under the same name as my Discord one. The Model Painters Guild: stt.gg/vMrY7CJK
It's on the ground floor at the moment. All are welcome to join if you're looking for a Discord alternative.

โญโญโญโญโญ for this comment. I laughed so hard I scared my cat ๐
Absolutely ๐
He's usually pretty good at leaving my hobby area alone, but as cats do, he's trying to migrate and find some new sleeping arrangements. The recliner just won't do anymore, not after the vacuum attack yesterday (cleaned it) ๐
