Lots of sneering about Barnsley being named a "tech town" by the government.
Whilst the scheme itself does seem a tad flimsy, Barnsley has done more than most to grow its economy and regenerate. Barnsley shouldn't be sneered at, it's actually a good model for other towns.

Sometimes they do. And sometimes they then end up splitting acrimoniously!
Likewise.
Much of Essex is prime Reform territory.
"Seizing Brexit opportunities to deregulate" was mostly unspecified magic fairy pixie bullshit then, and it's not going to get any more realistic in the hands of a bunch of Reform clowns who don't know how anything works, don't care to learn and disdain anyone that might.
I don't know where this idea comes from that the SS were "great warriors" and therefore it is somehow justified to get tattoos of SS symbols if you're a soldier. The SS sucked in combat. They barely even did combat. Most of what they did were massacres of civilians, miles behind the front line.
Does Shabana Mahmood have any idea how obnoxiously she comes across?
Absolutely hilarious the lengths @craiggamblepugh.bsky.social will go to on his election literature to avoid stating that he is standing as the #Labour candidate!
Why stand as the #Labour candidate if you're going to treat the name of your party as a dirty word?
I do think that not just Kier Starmer, but Labour MP's in general need to think about how to come across as more likeable.
My suggestion would just to be more open about what things they enjoy outside of politics. Allow MP's to show more of their human side!
Rotherham definitely needs more community spirit and civic pride. On that basis alone I hope it went well.
Rotherham has also decided to make a civic event of St George's. Not sure how it went though.

A blue sky with clouds. In the foreground is a green Primary Route exit sign for the A140. The destinations given are Ipswich Diss Norwich. It’s a image I took from google Maps as I wasn’t quick enough on the draw with my camera.
In East Anglia they even put their civic/ football beefs on road signs
In the past 3 weeks I've attended the following
- Easter Service in a Catholic Cathedral
- Wedding in a large "evangelical" / Reformed CofE Church
- Civic service at the local Methodist Church
Makes you appreciate the Church you attend regularly!
I understand frustrations of Scots.
But Scottish nationalism makes me very sad.
Brexit has shown answers to challenges we share will not be found in separatism.
It’s a tragedy we allow cynical, self interested hacks (aided by foreign actors who mean us harm) to divide us.
See also Brexit.
A lorry has overturned on the M25 shedding a load of dance wear over the carriageway.
Police are advising drivers to go slow slow quick quick slow!
And I thought that Cross Country Trains were abysmal! #worldcup
Never underestimate the NIMBY tendency of the Greens.
I think Yvette Cooper would be the most plausible person to succeed Starmer right now.
But how she handles the current crisis could easily change that!
And I also think Labour's current issues go beyond who's party leader.
So much misunderstanding in the world, that could be resolved simply by people reading Catholic Catechism books!
Rejoining the EU is the best way forward for Britain by a distance.
But a customs union with the EU is still an improvement on current trading arrangements. We shouldn't make perfect the enemy of the good. #brexithasfailed #rejoinEU
If we are going to have a World Cup Final half time show, can it at least be Napalm Death performing "You Suffer"?
Is this a resigning matter for the Prime Minister? Probably so yes.
But we are 2 weeks away from the local elections so it isn't going to happen right away.
Samantha Niblett's sex campaign definitely seems quite confused and incoherent. The only thing it seems to do is provide more publicity for Madame Niblett.
It doesn't even compare well with Miriam Cates pro-natalism. That may be flawed, but at least it's a logical argument!
From the same article. Not sure how sex ed and patriotism are related, but is Samantha Niblett really wanting sex ed to be a matter of "lie back and think of England"??? 🤣🤣🤣

I was the first kid at school to get into Korn and Nu-metal!
But Korn's music hasn't aged as well as the likes of Deftones or System Of A Down in my personal opinion.
I know I always complain that Labour MP's don't talk about their hobbies and interests when not on the job, but I'm not sure that we need politicians to tell us that shagging is actually quite a lot of fun! 🤣🤣🤣
Rejoining Erasmus is a welcome start.
Also, Erasmus of Rotterdam is brilliant!
People of West Ecclesfield. Do not be fooled by David Ogle.
He turned Ecclesfield Parish Council into a dysfunctional mess with his bullying antics during his time as a Parish Councillor. #sheffield @reformexposed.bsky.social
I don't remember which one "Appointment with F.E.A.R" was in the series, but I do remember Titanium Cyborg being a really cool looking villain!
