Meanwhile, with the $1 million not forthcoming, Supervisor Shamann Walton held up the encroachment permit needed to finish the stairs, according to city officials involved in the discussions, who said the hold up was a response to the open space improvement money being withheld. Walton did not return a call or text seeking comment.

I might not be understanding the complexities fully, but it seems like Sup. Shamann Walton holding up a public improvement that WAS binding, in order to try and get more goodies that were promised but explicitly noted as NOT binding? Anyway, great job, San Francisco

I inquired/complained myself about the stalled project, but didn't get very far (admittedly, I didn't push as hard as other neighbors have)

Why this stairway that would connect S.F. neighborhoods has been unfinished for 10 years Residents blame the developer that promised the stairway that would connect Dogpatch and Potrero Hill neighborhoods. But the developer says the city’s permitting woes are the culprit.

i have been reading Tom Ricks’ “Fighting the Good War” which is a military analysis of the civil rights movement, and one thing that comes abundantly across is that movement leaders and ordinary people made it a practice to refuse to fall into despair and cynicism.

what you clearly see, CLEARLY, is a driver who is spooked by the agents grabbing her door, takes steps to drive away, and is immediately shot as moves her vehicle *away* from the agents.
