I’ll read the article. Negative tax rate is a better political approach but I’m game for anything if it works and people might support it. UBI so far attracts decreasing support from Republicans. Negative income tax rate might be more viable. Both would be great!

I don’t agree with the vast majority of policies going into place but I realize now how unimaginative and incremental progressives are.

200 years of learning how to regulate banks and securities in America and we’re about to set it all on fire because crypto is innovative. The innovation is: no regulation.

And competence. If a company or government does what it says it will do well, we trust them. Some of the most liberal people I know drive Teslas and strongly dislike Musk. Why? The cars are great and well priced.

We have to acknowledge that our vision for what government can accomplish is diminished when we execute poorly.

Public school failures and public transit failures in Minnesota make it seem like we can only do small things.

If you want to know how well government will do regulating AI, just look at how great a job it did regulating social media.

If you are an elected/ appointed official over 70 (probably 65), DO NOT run for reelection. It’s time to pass the baton and not be a greedy, out of date, legacy who blew the ladder up after you climbed it.

My biggest frustration with policy making over the past decade is to see policy ideas like rent control that have a lot of emotional appeal take hold even though they are proven to hurt the very people they are supposed to help.

Policy makers need to read more and talk to fewer activist zealots.

It is so hard to start and to succeed as an employer. We need more people in politics and government who have authentic empathy about this. Otherwise, we scare off and/or harm the most vulnerable employers.
