she’s never had any bad experiences with kids. she usually LOVES meeting new people. it’s so funny to me.

honestly lily’s funniest aspect is the fact that the existence of children confuses her to the point that she error 404s around them

as an addendum, sparked by discussion on discord: it also makes more sense when you understand that an alarming number of people don't really like stories so much as they like characters, which completely skews their ability to engage with or understand a story

yeah interracial adoption is def a very different experience! for lack of being able to word things better if ppl see me with my parents they won't immediately know that i'm adopted? it usually only comes up in conversation when i mention my mom's turning 70 and ppl do the math and go ???

b/c i've met my bio parents and that brought up a lot of feelings there & her wondering what life would have been like if she were raised by them is similar to things i've thought a lot about. i love my parents, but sometimes i do wonder about how different my life would have turned out like.

(so there's a lot of distance there) so i really felt that "i still see myself really as my father's son but i don't want to ignore this other aspect of my identity that i resented/never got to explore." similarly krile meeting her parents + bio family in LM and treno made me Bawl the first time +
