It was thrilling and inspiring to see 40 intrepid cyclists embark on the 600 km Da Nang - Hue route that we had put so much care into planning. From the remote Ho Chi Chi Minh Highway to the windy coastal lagoons, this adventure put everyone to the test. Still, they kept smiling throughout!

Wonder what the Board of Peace will make of this!
A key takeaway: India's influence in the classical period has been vastly understated, while China's has been overstated (the term 'Silk Road' was only coined in the 19th century by a German researcher, and those land routes saw a much lower volume of trade than the maritime routes from India).
For a fascinating look at the millenia of philosophical and economic exchange between Europe and India, I highly recommend William Dalrymple's The Golden Road. Every page brings revelations about spiritual traditions, trade routes, and cross-cultural interactions.
Make no mistake, America is coming for Alberta. This requires a response at the federal, provincial, and community level. Federally, the government must summon the ambassador for an explanation and, absent a complete retraction and apology, expel him.

Don't forget Turpel-Lafond!

Additionally, the vast, chaotic traffic circle nearby has been removed and is now an orderly intersection, allowing for the large pedestrian square in pic 2 that will only get more pleasant as the plants grow and cool the urban desert. #Hanoi
The gigantic parking lot at the end of Hà Nội's Hoàn Kiếm Lake, which was an unsightly waste of prime land, has been removed, allowing for this large pedestrian area in photo 1.
Thanks to Adrien Liechti for tips & insights during preparation. 👍🏼 A great coach!

Thanks to Marco Hinzer and the whole team who put such care and effort into this event, which challenged us so much while bringing us deep into the ecosystem and culture of the German, Austrian, and Italian Alps.
An amazing experience riding The Alps Ultracycling Adventure from Tegernsee to Lago di Garda this week. Highly recommended for endurance cyclists who like lots of rugged climbing into remote and beautiful locations. Great camaraderie among riders and crew!
I wonder how many cyclists are happy about Shimano sponsoring this horror.

🇬🇪Georgia’s paradox: a government despised by its people, yet firmly in power.
Ivanishvili’s Georgian Dream survives not through popularity, but by fusing repression, economic dependency, and rigged institutions.
🧵In this thread I try to explain this paradox.

Hilarious that you lack self-awareness enough to paint an entire region with one brush while thinking you are enlightened.
