Yes, it would have been better if we'd done that. Didn't plan it through properly.
Mind you, our curator isn't the most tech-savvy operator here.

Ah.
ta. The Labour review seems to be missing; perhaps lost in weaving in and out of the threads. Here's a screenshot of just that one.
'Everything you need to know about 6 manifestos and buses' is here:

Why not both?
Although the Waverley one is particularly verbose.
Even bus users don't !
And that's our week-long review of 6 manifestos and buses.
Which is best for you?
As is our wont, we apply a healthy dose of scepticism to them all. Some good bits, some meh bits, some dire bits.
smart ticketing'; as everyone's promised for 30 years
3. Where do 'communities' get a direct say in RTPs?
Finally, the LIB DEMS
1. London-like model; communities in charge; complete revamp of buses
2. National tap-and-go so passengers can switch modes
3. Stronger regional transport partnerships
More demand responsive transport
1. And when communities want conflicting things?
2. See LABOUR 'integrated
We wiz there.
A well-run event @spurtle.bsky.social !
Happy #WorldPublicTransportDay

It's #WorldPublicTransportDay, apparently.
In joyous celebrations around the world, hundreds of millions of people are taking to their favoured form of public transport.
A bit like every other day, really.

SNP
Headline; £2 bus fare cap. Otherwise, more on rail, ferries, even tram-trains than buses, which do most PT trips.
So; little to say. SNP had £promises for buses in its recent budget, so partly forgiven for axing the Bus Partnership Fund (more joy in heaven from a sinner that repents etc)
Unconvincing headlines: free bus travel for all, more local control (some councils royally cocked up their buses), integrated tickets (see LABOUR; and why, if buses are free?)
Shows signs of integrating transport and other policy areas. Even if it's probably unachievable in one Parliamentary term.
GREENS
✅ remove barriers to bus lanes, invest in bus infrastructure
✅ minimum rural bus service guarantee
✅ national concessionary travel on Glasgow Subway & Edinburgh Tram

The ideal gift for any transport activist.
True. At least they provide endless fuel for '10 amazing pictures of how Edinburgh might have looked'
Also, since @threadinburgh.scot 's researching cycle path history, seeing Lothian Regional Council plans to build a road once the railway closed along Granton foreshore.
Our curator's old enough to have seen a Class 37 burbling along a double(!) track section under Ferry Rd from his first house after moving to Edinburgh.
Interesting article about the impact of free public transport. I particularly like this conclusion: "Access, travel time, service reliability and the ability to make specific trips appear to matter more."

First the Twins, and now the Triplets.
Will the carnage never end?
Abstract:
Well, basically it was @spokes.org.uk and volunteers. Recently, further progress ground to a halt.
Despite even better access to the network being apparently an easy win.
TBF only one manifesto to date doesn't mention potholes.
We've checked.
Quite liking the cut of @bettertransport.bsky.social 's jib since following them.
Reminder that:
1. Scotland has its own @transform.scot
2. Buses account for three quarters of public transport trips in Scotland.
Also, an article quoting Lord B should include notable caveats.
'Plans to change the size of HS2 trains to maximise capacity are likely to inflate costs & mean fewer seats & slower services... Correct except 'slower'; utter billhooks; why would 250m trains be slower than 200m trains?
Indeed, if the order's varied to 4 doors/coach it should cut dwell times!
So...EDI airport not too worried about the impending jet fuel shortage the air industry suggests will be a disaster for the global economy?

Disappointingly, in the Scottish Parliament election, so far the main parties have not recognised this simple truth
👇
Join us later this week for the 3 other manifestos.
If our Curator hasn't given up in despair by then.
(Meaning what?)
'Work to deliver integrated smart ticketing'; as promised by everyone over the past 30 years.
Basically, this manifesto suggests sorting buses is all about concessionary fares and public ownership/control. It isn't.
