Our campaign to make life affordable in southern Minnesota is continuing to gain momentum. We're building a campaign by working people, for working people, and I'm proud to have the support of 18,000+ workers across Minnesota in that fight.

Great to speak with teachers and school staff from Hiawatha Valley Teachers United last week! I shared our vision to end the tariffs and wars that are driving up costs, and instead invest in the healthcare and schools that small towns like Dover and Eyota need to thrive.
Great article in The Post Bulletin yesterday about the momentum behind our campaign!
As prices keep going up for families and farmers across southern Minnesota, it's clear that our message of making things cheaper and easier is resonating with voters all across the district.
The first photo is tonight, the second photo is exactly a year ago today when we launched our campaign at a Pizza Ranch in Fairmont.
One year into this campaign, and our message of making life cheaper and easier is clearly gaining momentum across southern Minnesota.
Schoolteacher and MN-01 candidate @jakejohnsonmn.bsky.social took the Political Integrity Pledge to:
- Reject corporate PAC $$
- Support a stock trading ban + hold no individual stocks while in office
- Support a lobbying ban for former members of Congress
- Support overturning Citizens United
Over the past year, we’ve been all across southern Minnesota, talking to folks about how we can make things cheaper and easier.
I'm so proud of this strong grassroots campaign we've built so far, and we're just getting started:
This evening, we'll be back at the Pizza Ranch in Fairmont where we launched this campaign to celebrate all the grassroots energy we've had so far.
We hope to see you there!
One year ago today, we launched our campaign to bring a voice for working people back to Congress.
From day one, we chose to do things a different way: actually meeting with voters, not taking money from corporations, and collecting signatures to get on the ballot.
BIG NEWS: Our campaign raised $130K more than Rep. Brad Finstad this past quarter, and we did it without taking a dime from corporations.
I'm so proud of the grassroots campaign we're building that's funded by real people right here in our communities.
Our congressman won't do interviews about rising costs because his policies are part of the problem. If I got the same questions, I'd highlight how I'd vote to end the tariffs and the wars that are driving up costs for farmers and families across southern Minnesota:
Thanks to the farmers near Frontenac who joined us for a roundtable yesterday.
With fertilizer and input costs continuing to rise, folks made it clear they want a representative who will vote to end the Iran war and roll back the massive tariffs driving up prices.
I’m proud to be endorsed by IBEW Local 343, which represents 1,000+ construction electricians across southern MN.
The workers who power our communities deserve a representative who will fight for good-paying jobs, lower costs, and real investment in energy infrastructure.
Wrapping up the day by calling some of our supporters to thank them for their help with our campaign. Want to get involved? You can donate and sign up to volunteer at the link in the tweet below.
I've paid $60+ twice today just to do the essential work of meeting with voters across southern Minnesota.
We don't have corporations to bankroll this effort, so I'm extra grateful today for everyone who has pitched in to support this campaign.
Great stop at Cabin Coffee, where I met a local corn and soybean farmer who spoke about the importance of bringing people together. Wishing him and his neighbors a strong start to planting season!
This is the loudest I’ve ever been allowed to be in a library!
Great questions and conversation with folks at the Jackson Public Library this afternoon.
…For example, today it’s a former student of mine (2014) who is recording the content, a student (2019) who is coordinating the logistics, and another student (2023) who is editing it together. Not kidding about this grassroots thing!
Great to be in Worthington meeting with voters today! One question I get sometimes is “Jake, how do you produce these videos of you speaking everywhere?” It isn’t some fancy production studio or anything… 1/2
Huge crowd in Rock County today! People are fired up to have a representative who actually shows up and fights to make life cheaper and easier in southern Minnesota.
Filling up the tank as we head out to meet with voters across the district today. Wow that was expensive! Shoutout to Brad Finstad and his vote for the Iran War for making it more costly to run a campaign in southern Minnesota.
Gas and everyday essentials are becoming more and more expensive here in southern Minnesota, and I believe voters will make their frustration clear this November. Here's the full article in Newsweek: www.newsweek.com/republicans-...
The numbers confirm what we've all felt this past month: gas prices have gone up ridiculously fast. Last month was the biggest one-month increase in gas prices in nearly 60 years.
Congress needs to grow a backbone and end this war in Iran immediately.
So great to speak with fellow supporters of strong schools in Mankato recently! I will continue fighting for the thoughtful investments we need in our communities to make sure every child has access to the American Dream.
But why stop there? Let’s get those numbers up before the end of the month by sharing the petition with your friends, family, and community at jakejohnsonforcongress.com/signatures
BIG NEWS! Our petition to get on the ballot has gathered over 4,000 signatures, beating our original goal by over 1,000.
