This issue also reminds me of the research of @kimberlyquinn.bsky.social on how the loss of public spaces and places where one feels welcomed & where we belong can negatively impact society in general but especially more marginalized groups

Hmm an undergrad physiological psych & research methods professor taught me that diagonal staples are the ONLY correct way to staple papers together! Took off points for stapling them any other way. Still do it his way to this very day though

I've been getting a lot of Iowa tourism ads too. Thought it was just because I've been there quite a few times recently. That said, Dubuque and nearby Galena IL are actually very nice!

For me the Big 4 were: piranhas, quicksand, giant sinkholes, and ninja attacks. I was convinced these were all common in small Midwest towns as a child (turns out a Sinkhole did take out a nearby soccer field so my fear wasn't totally misplaced)
