Take it from a person who grew up with a narcissistic mother: resistance isn’t entirely combat. Resistance is also: avoiding low-hanging fruit; doing things they didn’t want you to do; deciding your future even if it’s unpopular; choosing actions that give you your own self-respect; finding healthy sources of information outside of them; being successful even when the odds are stacked against you; finding acceptance from people they didn’t want you to know existed; fighting FOR happiness instead of fighting them - which keeps you IN unhappiness. And leading others to see that false choices created by toxic people only perpetuate their control of you. And that isn’t resistance.
On this Jan 6th, take it from a person who grew up with a narcissistic mother: RESISTANCE isn't always combat.
Resistance is also choosing actions that give you your own self-respect. Finding healthy sources of information outside of them.
& fighting FOR your own ideals, instead of fighting them.
