Vaelin is an ancient djinn, introduced in A Contract in Sol Forne.
After her essence was trapped, the elvenfolk used her power to grant them whatever they wished. After freeing herself, Vaelin took on the physical aspect of an elvenfolk. However, her enslavement did not end there...

Was randomly thinking of the time @kayareads.bsky.social made a meme-packed summary video for my book Seasons of Albadone. If you've read the book (or are curious about it) and are looking for a laugh, definitely check this out!
The Testament of Ann Lee has night shots that are lit like they used to do them in the 90s. I didn't know that was still legal.
I'm not hitting my writing goal.
Writing while facing unemployment sucks.
But this isn't my first rodeo.

Adriel is the first character introduced in Seasons of Albadone, and perhaps its most pivotal.
She is Mother Ollaβs apprentice enchantress, raised to take her place.
Warm and well-liked, unlike her teacher, Adriel loves foraging for rare ingredients, exploring, and foods with unique textures.
A progress bar of the word count for book 4 of the Eighth Chant Series
Book 4 of The Eighth Chant Series update:
Unfortunately we didn't hit the weekly goal. We have a debt of about 1600 words π’ But I'm still proud of the work we did!
Current word count: 18,409
Goal for this week: 30,000
What are your writing goals for this week?
Would love some fantasy cover artists to follow on here. Can you drop some recommendations? #fantasybooks #fantasyartist
Day 5 - boom! Another 1003 words!
You have to hop on this one #musicsky
I have no words

People often ask about how Elan and I write as a couple, if we each split chapters or POVs. The process is pretty simple:
1. We outline together
2. I vomit draft solo
3. She edits solo
4. We go out and argue about the process in front of concerned strangers
5. We line edit together

Day 4 - already reached 1014 before noon. Might add a few more later, but so far we're still on track!
βWe need to free her,β the girl insisted. βShe will die if she stays down here.β
βSheβ¦ You mean the melk?β Rovan asked.
βI was brought here to care for her. We are bonded, like sisters."

Day 3 - and another 1074 words! Hopefully I keep going like this, growing the word count incrementally each day.
I've had this happen before and it's a magical feeling, when a character surprises you and leads the story into unexpected territory. It's a lot of fun.
A three-panel comic about books in The Eighth Chant Series. Panel 1: The cover of A Seasons of Albadoone says, βI am a standalone novel!β Panel 2: A hand points to another book cover titled A Contract in Sol Forne, asking, βWhat about that guy?β Panel 3: Seasons of Albadone tases book 2, responding, βDid I stutter?β

Day 1 - Success! 1005 words.
You got this! Best of luck!
That switching of gears is always the hardest part. Just got done outlining a few weeks ago and I still haven't made that mental switch. Hoping to get going today.
It's never too late to reinvent yourself. I was 27 when I started a whole new career trajectory.
