I know I've disappeared for a little. My sister passed away from leukemia a couple of weeks ago. I'm dealing with it on a lot of levels and will need some time. I actually do want to write some music to process but I'm not sure when it will happen. I'm taking a bit of break from posting anything

I rarely ever watch the Super Bowl or the Halftime Show but I saw Bad Bunny's performance and I was moved to tears. So much about it is what we need right now in the world.
The ugly arrogance of evil led me to believe in the inevitable beauty of Good.
So much music to digest in 2025. Here are my favorites loosely ordered.
I found some great places for recommendations and then it just set me in a lot of new directions. I’m reminded there is still so much to take in and learn. I’m leaving things out but I’ll hear them when the time is right.
Putting together my favorite albums of 2025 is stressing me out slightly. I feel like there were many different kinds of music in various directions! This is going to be hard to choose....
I'll be performing at the Longest Night hosted by ARTS Seattle at King Street Station on Dec. 21. I'll be on from 6:30-8pm. I would love to see you there. FREE and for everyone.

Going to an Oilers game and genuinely worried about the outcome
For Thanksgiving, everyone should watch Reservation Dogs all weekend long.
Wow, I had no idea there would be so many places of conversation with all of those movies. My head is swimming with all the connections. Not exactly Thanksgiving material, but very powerful nevertheless.
For this week, I've decided to finally watch The Shining (!), Audition, Suspira (original and new), and Midsommar. I don't know why but just felt my mind is ready for it. haha. Maybe because it's balancing the mind numbing work of completing my dissertation.
I have a new Mount Vermont EP and a single under my name coming out this weekend. As I turn 50, I had wanted this year to be more meaningfully productive, but I think five releases in one year for fifty is good enough considering how hard everything has been. If anyone is listening, I am grateful.

New album of solo piano improvisations. It's a bit rough but it's very intimate and honest. It was a very spiritual experience to record these.
Celebrate and protect freedom. Happy Juneteenth.
My sister is still looking for a bone marrow donor. Especially those in the Asian Community, we need more donors out there. Read here to learn more about what's involved.

I learned that my sister was diagnosed with leukemia at the same time my album was released. The music I hear now from "Bloom" hits so different now and speaks in ways I could never have imagined.
The reason my workouts have been so consistent the past couple of months is that I have channeled all my self-negative energy into exercise.
New album “Bloom” coming May 2.
Also, I have a whole lot of electronic music piled up in the queue. I think the next Mount Vermont EP will be drawing from the minimal lofi aesthetic of Detroit electronic music, but will veer into my own explorations, as it usually does.
Also, the next Contemplative instrumental album is coming. A live recording of meditations through piano.
So I think I have finished my 2nd mastering pass. I think the next album is almost ready to get out into the world.
Performing live improvised piano to AAPI Home Movies at this special event this Saturday. An intimate connection between culture, memory and medium. Link in bio for more info.
Saw Mickey 17 and I wonder how many American viewers are going to dismiss it.
If you let it speak on its own terms there’s a lot to unpack.
Wow. How did I not listen to Floorplan until now? I’m loving all things Detroit Electronic-adjacent right now.
