Blood & Flames (demo) by Blackblooms Crush, burn and slice through your enemies, and keep your family safe, at all cost.

Welp, its still got a bunch of flaws, but i think the demo for #blood&flames is ready to be played. It should be about 30min to 1 hour.

Don't hesitate to talk about your experience.

If I can get it to run via Wine/Bottles, I'll give it a play! :)

God, I feel that - I almost want them to abandon VR, so a proper hacker ecosystem can flourish, like it did with hacked 3dses...

While the Bluesky-world appeared to have come to a halt yesterday, we quietly passed the 10,000 user milestone on our @eurosky.social PDS.

Cave Story is all around wonderful :D
First game that showed me what lil pixel art masterworks can do^^

I used to use Notepad++ too, but circumstances led me down the way of VIM :D
If we hadn't been forced to use an older version of Notepad++ at my first developer job, I never would've switched - I even _liked_ Notepad++ (still do, actually)

DS 2 best souls in my heart ♥️
With one caveat:
The vanilla version, not SotFS!

Ooooh, I love that!

Tools I use for my indie game:

IDE: VIM + Terminal

Art: Blender, Krita and Inkscape

Project Management: I don't ;-;

Website Coding: not yet, but VIM once it comes down to it

Hahaha oh god^^
I now crash the game if it detects two spawn points with the same ID, but I should probably crash at build time...

Kinda searching for ways to prevent the mistake in the future, did you find a solution, or just made a mental note and were happy that shit was solved? :)
(Both legit)

[2/2] were much harder than the one I ended up going to, and most importantly, I never would have met my partner, who I got together with shortly after school^^

I don't know if I'd like the person I would have become. But yeah, I do wonder as well, would be an interesting alternate timeline :)

[1/2] I mean I tried making games before, but using stuff like cheats in other games, placing objects, sometimes changing sprites in games that had them in the file system, like Little Fighter 2.
I may have failed hard if I'd known I wanted to program early in my life, the schools for that

Fixed a bug yesterday where the player would move incredibly slowly upon spawning in some levels.
Turns out I had accidentally duplicated some spawn points, making two player characters spawn *inside* each other.

I seem to produce more bugs than actual code some days.

Best day to start is yesterday, of course - I always thought programming was too "smart" for me until I was introduced to it at 20-ish (I think, it was just after school at a webmaster course which I took because my dad suggested it)
Always been messing around and trying things tho :)

This is really fucking cool - reminds me of the upscaling algorithms used by some emulators, but used intentionally.
Really really dig it! :D

I have the feeling I'll need the shield :)

I have to second the monster icon remark - I've always admired how recognizable they made those lil' guys - and this one definitely fits the bill :D

The ancient ones, emanating heat and making themselves known by infernal ruckus as they fulfilled your wishes - the gods were alive, I tell you!

Well it's at least a loose net of artist friends - but the tightening isn't all that easy, I guess^^

The driving... Depends on if you need it - got enough public transports? It's probably fine :)
Also, learning should get easier as more used electric (thus automatic shift) cars hit the market :)

Nah, you've already made a metric fuckton of really cool art and picked up a lot of skills along the way!
You're doing better at 25 than I am at 32, believe me^^
Also define significant - what did you think you'd done by now? :)

I gotta say, I should like the broad strokes of Super more, but the vibes of GT are on its side (especially towards the end) - and SSJ4 is honestly the best transformation, style-wise
^^
(Also, one new form would've been enough, but who am I to complain^^)

GT > Super

(smugly puts on sunglasses made from two copies of dragon ball final bout for the PS1)

Positively delightful^^

I feel like asking what log is an euphemism for here, kinda defeats the point, so I'll refrain^^
(I think there's (at least) two possible interpretations tho, right?)

Nooooo that one went straight over my head ;-;
I love it xD
