Sean Baker’s Oscar is a win for indie film—climbing from tiny budgets since 2000 to Anora’s $6M. Most of us can’t touch $1M. Below that? Good luck getting seen. The industry must stop gatekeeping and lift new voices. Talent’s there; distribution’s the chokehold.
