The right-wing would like to see young girls (sometimes very young) filling the societal role of women as the right-wing perceives that role. That especially means sexually and procreatively. Do not use their language. Girls and women are not the same.

Very recently I read yet another article about a "15-year-old pregnant woman," and it made my blood boil. There is absolutely no such thing as a 15-year-old woman.

Only individuals age 18+ should ever, for any reason, be referred to as women. Even if someone impregnates a girl, she is a pregnant girl, not woman. If she is entered into a marriage, she is a married girl, not woman. She is a girl, still growing, still in the process of her brain's development.

In the times ahead, carefully choosing the language we use will be more important than ever. I'm posting this to remind everyone I know that GIRLS ARE NOT WOMEN, and should never be called women. Girls are non-adults under the age of 18 in the US.

That's actually a good idea.
