It may often feel like the whole idea of protecting yourself online is too big of an issue to tackle. But we can take small steps to better protect our own privacy, as well as to build an online space that feels as free and safe as speaking with those closest to us in the offline world.

Steam will soon list what accessibility features games support on store pages Finally. Something many have been asking for Valve to do for a long time now, and something I've pointed out multiple times across various articles - Steam pages will soon list what accessibility features games support on store pages.

Verification pop-up for badge issued by Wired

What we’ve launched today is the first step for how we’re going to evolve verification.

The initial set of trusted verifiers includes news orgs who’ve agreed to take on the task of verification for their journalists. In the future, this set will expand, as well as how apps can choose to use them.

Harvard University Harvard University is devoted to excellence in teaching, learning, and research, and to developing leaders who make a difference globally.

To everyone (justifiably) applauding @harvard.edu 's response to the fed. administration's demands: that letter is only part of the story. Harvard's new website went public in coordination with Harvard Pres. #AlanGarber 's letter. It's completely revamped--and it's brilliant. www.harvard.edu. (1/8)

Harvard has set an example for other higher-ed institutions - rejecting an unlawful and ham-handed attempt to stifle academic freedom, while taking steps to make sure students can benefit from an environment of intellectual inquiry, rigorous debate and mutual respect. Let’s hope others follow suit.

There's no such thing as a self-made man or woman. No one succeeds without support.

"I did it on my own" is a sign of insecurity and entitlement. Acknowledging help is a mark of confidence and humility.

Giving credit to others doesn't undermine you. It elevates them.

Major shoutout to local National Weather Service offices who have issued literally hundreds and hundreds of tornado / severe thunderstorm / flood warnings in just the past 36 hours alone. Most offices are doing this amid staff shortages.

SPC / WPC teams doing amazing work, too.

Scientists matter.

Here’s my account on Flashes, a photo sharing app. All my followers can automatically find me as soon as they log in!

This is what we mean when we say Bluesky is open: your identity and followers belong to you. It took 30s to sign up for this new, independent app, and everything is there.

Homelab is now in its new home and online, catching up on the network. Will probably take 10+ hours to catch up on 7 days of missed activity so hopefully I can bring the feeds back up sometime tomorrow :)

This closet happened to be perfectly sized for my rack and is right next to the ISP drop!!!

Figured I’d hop on here today for the 15th anniversary of the Affordable Care Act.

With everything going on right now, it’s easy to feel like regular folks can’t make a difference – but the ACA is a reminder that change is possible when we fight for progress.
