In my opinion "No Kings" was great, but unless we have a general strike soon the US/Israel war (and whatever comes next) will be on us, not just our out of control and out of touch leadership.

I am manoeuvring with difficulty
Here's what I'd like: for my phone camera to have an option (defaultable?) to transcribe what I say just after snapping a picture and include it as an EXIF metadata comment.
My (82-year old) mother and I just finished watching the first two episodes of Murderbot. Two thumbs up from us! They hit the quirky tone of the books just right to our eyes and ears.
Canada’s former friend & ally for 80 years has gone crazy, tyrannical.
in 🇺🇸, the lying sociopath in the WH and GOP enablers have wrought evil incompetence, degrading the nation’s institutions.
resistance, while it can feel exhausting, is crucial. ⛔️

Doesn't this violate the Fifth amendment protection against self-incrimination?

23 years ago today, ten cartoonists agreed to split the rent on a shared workspace in downtown Portland, Oregon. Since then we've had 4 spaces, 3 names, & 100 members & mentees. We've given dozens of tutorials, attended 100s of cons, and drawn thousands of pages. Thanks for making it all possible!
Thank you, @Raffi_RC!
Raffi is my favorite resistance leader here.
Thank you Raffi
this is the month the U.S. will no longer be a nation of laws as we knew it. 🌟

Aww shucks! I don't Spotify (they rob, don't support, 99.9% of artists), and Bandcamp doesn't track what I listen to (yay!), so this thread is as good as I can do. (sheepish grin) When an artist-positive way to share playlists appears, I'll be all over it.
I agree that Unity has breached trust and should avoid any kind of craptastic behavior like this developer had to go through, ... but according to this post is was a mistake and they are trying to do better. Clearly they need to tread even more gently. www.reddit.com/r/Unity3D/co...
I came here to say this - nicely done.

Music I discovered & loved this year in no particular order: Two Feet, Jamie xx's In Waves, Glass Beams, Nik Bärtsch, Kopilott II, Roberta Flack's First Take, Alanis Morissette's the storm before the calm, Alexander Panos, Sun Ra's Jazz in Silhouette, Cannnoball Adderly's Somethin' Else, ...
If a game engine actively tries to use its market position to drive its users out of business MORE THAN ONCE, then maybe it’s time to stop using it.
Unity has already shown us what they’re willing to do to make extra cash. I have no idea why anyone would believe they will not try again.
This is why I'm here. Thanks, community.

Nation of Language on stage, at Revolution Hall in Portland Oregon on August 12, 2023. The stage is lit red, Ian Richard Devaney is singing into a microphone in the center, Aidan Noell is playing synthesizer and singing on the left, and Alex MacKay is playing bass on the right.
Nation of Language put on a great show last night in Portland. I'm looking forward to their new album in September!
