the 20+ pitch first inning by an elite opposing pitcher is the perfect measured good vibes moment

Yes, the cover is outstanding! I love the colors
Thank you so much!
Congrats! Looking forward to reading your work. My story "Fragmentations" is also featured in the latest issue
Grateful to The Lindenwood Review for publishing my latest piece of flash fiction, "Adhesive." Thank you so much! digitalcommons.lindenwood.edu/lindenwood-r...
Congrats on getting your first piece published! They published one of my flash fiction pieces, too. Keep 'em coming!
I got some serious Misery vibes watching Bugonia
Just re-watched Before the Devil Knows You're Dead. This has to be one of the bleakest motion pictures I've ever seen. Also an incredibly well-crafted and acted one. Wild that Sidney Lumet went out like this.
Hearing that Cocteau Twins' song "Alice" in the limited series Under the Bridge felt like a nice nod to The Lovely Bones-and also a nice reminder that The Lovely Bones was the biggest letdown of 2009
For real. Even the notes on my phone need to have some grammatical coherence. Otherwise I feel a little grimy, like I need to wash my hands
I was reading something about what makes a good plot twist, and the article cited the ending of the first Planet of the Apes. Pretty classic
Love this list. Another one I always appreciate is when you're waiting in line at the grocery store and the person in front of you sees you have fewer items and lets you go first
I'm no expert on acting, but the range Claire Danes showed in episode 3 of Fleishman is in Trouble was pretty impressive
Thrilled to be featured in the forthcoming issue of The Lindenwood Review!
Delighted to be watching The Americans for the first time. Also delighted to learn that Keri Russell and Matthew Rhys are a couple in real life. How did I not know this?
Found a cool 1929 copy of The Odyssey at an estate sale with illustrations by N.C. Wyeth, who also wrote this note. The poem's "magnificent flexibility and freedom from rigid consistency in presenting incidents and details" bodes well for Nolan's new adaptation. I hope he gets a little wild with it
Still haven't seen Perfect Blue. Just re-watched Black Swan though, it holds up! It just has one really good scene after another. Build-up of tension is great. Also love the dark color scheme of the practice room
Just re-watched Black Swan. Sort of the ultimate cinematic success story: critics loved, audiences loved it, it had a low budget but was a box office hit, it won Natalie Portman an Oscar, and, 15 years later, it holds up splendidly
I'm trying to listen to more audiobooks in 2026. Starting out with Annihilation. So far so good! But I might just buy a physical copy of this too since the cover art's so cool
I really loved Midnight Mass, so spooky and atmospheric, very thoughtful script as well. I just watched The Life of Chuck, which I didn't love as much as some, but there's some great Flanagan monologues in there for sure!
Greta Gerwig's 2019 adaptation of Little Women is a gift
Art lives in the process, in the struggle to grow and figure out the specific needs of the work, and in the arrival at a better understanding of the artist’s limitations. The product is just the end result of the art.
When a popular website redesigns its layout, I feel like one of the disoriented supermarket shoppers at the end of White Noise
Finally saw Del Toro's Frankenstein. Overall I really liked this. visually sumptuous as expected. I also really appreciated the way it streamlined parts of the original tale to highlight and further address the relationship between creator and creation.
Annual reminder that Prisoners is a great Thanksgiving movie
Nothing like a visit to the mound for a hearty theological discussion. I've always admired Peanuts from afar, but this makes me want to give it a deeper look
My latest writing strategy for fiction: making a bullet-point list of scenes and details on the notes section of my phone. I love it because I can do it anywhere and every time I add a bullet point, I feel like I'm getting work done. It then makes the actual writing process much easier for me
I found a box of Ohio Blue Tip matches at an estate sale and had to pick them up. Fans of the movie Paterson will understand
I was listening to a podcast and the host said something along the lines of "I don't like writing, but I love having written." So true! Writing can sometimes be very taxing, but when the work's done, the rewards are immense
