My godfather died this morning. He bore his cancer with real grace & equanimity. His beloved wife was my fabulous Auntie Fran, from Merthyr, lost slowly & painfully to the Big C.

Fran suffered; Rob did not.

Today is - or was - Fran’s birthday.
He hung on… & went peacefully.

I agree with Athers. I always suspected allowing subs in cricket would be open to gamesmanship and abuse - and it’s not taken long to show that to be the case.
