Poorly tracked would be an understatement. A yearly letter which should be replied to yet many have moved or feel that they have done enough and have been out for a long time, and or a medically unfit now. Upping the age limit just bodges the stats.

I think if this is still going on by summer we will all have bigger issues than Summer holiday plans

Neither was a harder worker or a better man than the other and sometimes it’s down to pure luck of your situation*
Granddad who died at 83 with no money was definitely luckier. 56 dying still at work is not the win (and my nan never spent any of it)

Oh I totally get that what a lot of people want to do and you’ve only got to look at certain papers firing people up at any suggestion that they may have to use their savings or house to pay for care. One Granddad died with enough to cover the funeral the other had a good live insurance policy

Sorry think you’ve got the wrong end of the stick there, this isn’t a statement about who and who doesn’t get inheritance more a point that nobody should expect one. It’s not your money and an old person’s savings and house should be used to cover nursing costs

I’ve spent the last 10-15 years telling my parents it’s there money and they should enjoy it. If the house gets taken to pay for nursing care well that’s what it’s there for

Inheritance and the issues that come with it all basically boil down to are you a good person or not. No matter what level of wealth a parent has no one is entitled to any of it and if you do get some inheritance lucky you (but it should be taxed). Also no guarantee children will look after parents

The whole thing does stink of “Trump is a total wrong’n…… maybe we should send a wrong’n to be US ambassador as that would help, what wrong’ns we got that we think will also push our agenda?”

Yeah I have no clear opinion of Starmer should stay or go for this (I thought Mandelson was a terrible idea because well it’s him) I just hope if they remove him they do it quickly now get a quick replacement and see if we can have a couple of years of normal government*
*as normal as possible here

Oh well that’s very different but then thinking about it these people were trying to suggest that any worries about population growth was racist even when you worry was for climate change and natural resources like drinking water.

Obviously it’s all made up nonsense to get people angry over nothing before an election. Side note raining cats and dogs is such an old person saying that I can’t imagine anyone under 50 thinking about using it in conversation

I thought the global population was worrying as it’s had doubled to 8 billion in the last 50 years but many people on here told me all consensus is that global population will not only drop in the next 50 but to half. Which does seem an extreme drop

Well a couple of bottles had me flying at the Reading festival many moons ago

Or as I found out at Luton with easyJet once that the check in queue was so bad they had signs up for certain flights to jump the queue or they’d miss the flight (no time for the food & drink planned for that one)

I biggest issue is traffic as you can normally get through security in under 30 minutes. I know on a good run I can get to Heathrow in under an hour but if something happens on the motorway that can become 2hrs so that’s why I plan to be at the airport 3 hours before.

We’re not alcoholics we’re British!
Having a drink at the airport is all part of the holiday experience.
But the pro argument is very much just not missing the flight

A very panicked and expensive 24hrs before they’d let me fly only to have a very confused and apologetic immigration officer ask me why I have 3 visa’s to enter the country

2 days ago 0 0 0 0

No not a chance as I don’t like wasting money and missing a flight rebooking and traveling on a later flight is far more time wasting than having an hour or two in an airport bar. I’ve only missed on flight & that was because BA questioned my Visa to India.

I keep thinking with the mid terms coming up then the next election at some point some of the republicans will turn against Trump not though any moral standing but to save themselves after looking at poll numbers

Local food larders and the like are very different though, anyone can use them just give a donation and often there will be regulars who are well off just like a bargain and dislike food waste

Yeah that sounds never much like a Facebook thing with no facts to back it up. My mum volunteers at a food bank & people have to referred to use it. Sometimes they have people who really need help but they have to help them go through with the council to be checked.

Absolutely. I’m not up on US history but he must be the most corrupt president ever and all this insider trading is so obvious, it’s hard to understand why congress hasn’t done anything yet to remove him

I’m not sure I think he wants the war over but he wants to say it’s a victory and have everything he’s own way. That’s why it’s a constant flip-flop when his ideas are hit by reality. He’s shown many times he can always get another distraction from the Epstein files

The poxy little airports are normally the worst, I remember trying to get in & out of Zante (before Brexit) all the Brit flights were at the same time and it was utter carnage. Hol reps basically took over and even did baggage handling to make it quicker. You do you but I’ll be early

The new Biometrics in the EU is a worry as you have to do it as you leave as well to book out. It’s because it’s new lots of the machines don’t work & there’s limited staff on. Took me about an hour in Berlin and that was basically just our flight clearing immigration. Summer hols going to be crazy

I did a cheap fly drive to Orlando before Thomas Cook went bust and with turning up at check in 3 1/2 hours before the flight with understaffed rubbish check in, overloaded TSA security we only just made our flight & didn’t even get a drink. This is way before ICE at the airport

We aren’t talking about getting on the plane and the people who stand up and queue early at the gate are weird, this is all about getting to the airport and getting through security in time so there are no issues. 1-2 hours in an international departures lounge is fine, can be enjoyable
