Welp. Unfortunately accurate! It’s wild to look at how much more wealth inequality has accelerated since even the 1990s. And of course that means political influence has increasingly consolidated in the hands of the wealthy as well.
I think I was so young when Bush was President that I almost took the win for granted, though.
I will say I definitely felt a lot of techno-optimism in the early 2010s, though. I think I had a general sense when I was younger that things would inevitably move in the right direction.

This federal operation has made life difficult for many residents to shop for groceries, go to work, take their children to school, or keep their small businesses open. When residents are brutalized and profiled, families are torn apart, and children are arrested, our communities are not any safer. We continue to demand that ICE, and all federal agents leave our state immediately.
