Just realized it's been almost a year since my (non-)declaration of indie dataviz crisis truth-and-beauty.net/texts/crisis... — what do we all think a year on? Have things improved?

Personally, I just came out of a few solid long-term engagement and now focus crafting individual projects again, mostly science communications. I enjoy it :)

I touched on some of it in truth-and-beauty.net/texts/crisis... from an indie practitioner perspective. Maybe I should write an update in May this year? :)

Ooh, good question. I'd separate DVS from other platforms, I think it has its own, somewhat peculiar genesis and just covers a part of the field. But there is a wider decline in terms of conferences, platforms, coverage, … for sure.
