The Earthquake Event Page application supports most recent browsers, view supported browsers. Or, try our Real-time Notifications, Feeds, and Web Services.

The best information on shaking locality, fault motion solutions etc are here: earthquake.usgs.gov/earthquakes/... I presume there will be many with an interest in generating an InSAR product, but I have not seen one yet as the S1 imagery only just on ESA.

I’d love to see the InSar. I can do backscatter change detection, but not proper InSar for offset etc

he first Sentinel1 images are in after the Alaskan M7 earthquake beneath Hubbard Glacier - no shortage of new landslides. Below are 28/11 and a 9/12 images! @watershedlab.bsky.social @davepetley.bsky.social

S1 from yesterday covers the western area, having a pre- post- SAR to work with will make things possible for the likes of me who only dabbles in S1 change detection.

For context, these are the supraglacial landslides detected 1984-2019 (ish) using GERALDINE in the area of Alaska where the recent EQ occurred. The new ones will be visible for a limited time given the season - less time than you'd think

Already a hotspot of rock avalanches, hundreds in the Landsat era, especially Marvine Glacier, upper Turner and around.

Are you @planet.com searching or seismic detection hunting ?! I need a Landsat image before running the GERALDINE detection tool for the whole area.

Back from the Indian Himalaya after NERC funded install trip with IIT Roorkee to capture 'Super Slugs' of sediment moving after the 2021 Chamoli disaster in the headwaters of the Ganga/Ganges. The sediment legacies of these events are rarely studied but they can have significant downstream impacts.

Someone must be listening - e-visa granted in less than 12 hrs!!

I’m one Indian visa application = one declined so far, about to try my luck again to head out next month. No doubt the seismometers/turbidity loggers will not make it though!
