"Philippe Gaulier stopped our act pretty quickly and said 'They are two sad little men'. We looked at each other and smiled." First Gig Worst Gig with Stepdads, ahead of their Soho shows next week.

I'm going to open an aviary specialising in one type of bird only - just for larks!
Still there. I'm now pretty much oblivious to my new sparrow overlords
These guys have been looking though this window all day, like a reverse aviary. Baffled by reflections, presumably. Love to know what they're tweeting about
Genuinely one of the coolest things I've ever seen a cultural venue post
Also, tricky to edit someone out without being able to explain exactly why you're doing it
Not if, like me, you buy about 12 of them in May
But does she then do a vague wave when you earthquake her house?
Picture of Marjane Satrapi alongside a quote from her. The quote reads: The world is not divided into countries. The world is not divided between East and West. You are American, I am Iranian, we don't know each other, but we talk together and we understand each other perfectly. The difference between you and your government is much bigger than the difference between you and me. And the difference between me and my government is much bigger than the difference between me and you. And our governments are very much the same... - Marjane Satrapi, Iranian-French graphic novelist
Thinking about this quote from Persepolis creator Marjane Satrapi again.
'Y'know, Smacky Kestrel...'
Although oddly close if you'd seen Cocaine Bear
That is lovely.. wonder if Singer do t-shirts with that logo on, y'know, for singers
It's about six months since I saw the excellent near-future play by @alfrunrose.bsky.social about exactly this, at the Edinburgh Fringe.
Didn't realise it'd be THAT near, ffs
As they used to say at the BBC, deputy heads will roll
YEESH. Brutal. But very well-written.
Thought Wimbledon were signing Nathan for a minute there, like that time Melchester Rovers brought in two of Spandau Ballet
Were there other tribute-name solo acts, way back, in the Fats Domino/Chubby Checker envelope?
This is both funny and surprisingly moving
of course the song’s called wichita assistant referee, these days
We are extremely fair weather Chanukah observers, but it felt like the right year to dust down our menorah and light it with the kids. The festival of light, symbolising hope, at a time where hope feels more important than ever.
hate it - Although I always feel it's then fine to go full 5 year-old, kick the back of their chair for the entire flight, whack your dinner tray down hard, yank the top of their chair when you go to the loo... and no mum telling you off! Hours of fun
Chris for the win!
@tim-burgess.bsky.social Just Lookin' played on consecutive shows on @bbc6music.bsky.social this morning - has it been rereleased?
Great career, yep - but that might be his finest moment.
I'm not Irish & I've watched that RTE clip 3 times now. One of the great unsung football things is an off-mic pundit absolutely losing it
If anything like me, something like 'these Brothers in Arms videos are hilarious, and Sultans of Swing is a banger - everything in between must be equally as fun...'
Four more years! I mean, at least
