Pain is transformed into pleasure, and as such the transformation from virgin to non-virgin becomes both painful and pleasurable. This is the guarantee of the literary hymen. However, there is an emphasis here on "literary," because this hymen does not reflect reality. It is regularly located in an anatomically incorrect place (partway up the vaginal passage instead of outside the vaginal opening), it is omnipresent in virgins, and its destruction can be felt by both virgin and deflowerer.
Specifically on hymen placement, @jodimca.bsky.social writes that
This reminds me that there are a couple of chapters on virginity and hymens in romance by @dramyburge.bsky.social and @jodimca.bsky.social in "Virgin Envy: The Cultural Insignificance of the Hymen" and both are readable at the moment via Google Books
I went off to see if there were currently any teapots like this available online and found one which looks very, very like this one and description says "The inception of this design traces back to an earthenware rendition from approximately 1875, a creation of the esteemed Moore Brothers."
The OP from Bridget about bringing a clipboard followed by a post by Courtney Milan saying that her "heroine is clipboard-dependent"
My timeline just now
I was thinking it was a bit unlikely you had a secret cupboard you hadn't found until now, but I had to ask!
Where and how did you find it?
There aren't many comments attached to your BlueSky post, so do you mean the ones you've been copying across (from X?) at the foot of the article?

I do love the Georgian architecture of the Edinburgh one, of course, but the colours and patterns hurt my brain so much I can't see past that, whereas the Reading house makes me think a bit of Gaudi and of hobbitcore and "dark academia". At least till I get to the dining room and bedrooms 😱
But at least there would be some rooms I could live with, unlike this one, which made me feel dizzy it had so many clashing patterns and colours. www.rightmove.co.uk/properties/1...
I'm guessing to a lot of people it would come across as sarcastic?
I can see how recovering and recycling it is also hard, but if prices for fertilisers rise, might that increase the incentives to do so? Also, does this tie in to water pollution? Because if so, and there's political pressure to lower that, that might increase incentives to recover and recycle?
This is making me wonder about alternative sources (though I'm probably completely misunderstanding the chemistry behind it all)
According to what I saw from Rory Stewart and Alastair Campbell, this would be the first time Mandelson was vetted because his previous appointments were political and it's only civil servants who get vetted.
Unfortunately, it seems to be this kind of trickle [apologies in advance for the name, since this has nothing to do with China at all, as mentioned in the entry itself]
Agreed: lovely summary!
Thanks! Sounds like she's being quite specific, so that's reassuring.
But does she know that romance has different sides? Or is this going to just bash all romance?
Well, not head as in King Charles, but still...
Specifically, getting the head of the Church of England to support the Pope (though, to be fair, I think actually the CofE and the Catholic Church must have quite a lot of contact on ecumenical things).
I'm thinking maybe re-establishes the authority of Pope.
The Scottish Political Archive, though I don't think they need more than one set of election leaflets from each constituency (although, I suppose some people in the same constituency may get different material depending on their demographic?): collections.stir.ac.uk/archive-coll...
I still can't see the embedded links in Bluesky. I wonder if this will work, and it's kind of relevant to you:
Green castle at night, tourists' delight
Grey castle in the morning, not at all boring.
Illustration of tiny little honey possums ( en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Honey_p... ), because we can all do with a break from doom-scrolling.
Maybe he works on an oil rig in the North Sea but lives in Aylesbury the rest of the time?
I still feel a bit dizzy (not in a good way) due to the wallpaper and flooring choices.
