I’m enjoying our shape so far with Havertz dropping deep with Eze…

He’s got a lot wrong but on this I think he’s played it spot on. The global political wheel is turning and Europe has no appetite for Trump’s foolish Empire ambitions.

An ugly win at times but it’s easy to underestimate how such a muddy lumpy and slow pitch can make our players look off it. Key performances from Dowman, Madueké, Eze, Mosquera and Hincappé pulled us through. Onwards!

What’s it going to take?

Very true.
In the Champion’s League where some teams are used to open attacking football we’ve been able to pass and move much more freely in the final third and scored some great goals in open play.

When you actually study the stats you’ll find that while they are up there with corners, if you take all time-wasting actions during games they are in the bottom half of prem teams for time-wasting. Just saying…

I should have been a Palace fan growing-up near Croydon, but at the age of 7 one game of Subuttio with a vintage Arsenal kit team set my future in stone.

Loading your experience… This won’t take long.

A very cagey first half - both teams restricted to little threat in the final third. Chelsea seem to have grown into the game and are able to pass too easily through our midfield. We need an energy lift all over the park and a bit more mayhem in attack with a few more long balls.. this is too nervy

I agree - he’s been thrown in when we were short with little time to adjust and been brilliant. He’s quick and strong and also gives us a more traditional wingback option when we don’t want to invert.

we need to use some pace in transition and stop giving the ball away!

An opinion from Europe (uk) - it’s always seemed strange to see it tbh. Internationals is the natural home for them. Otherwise it feels a little forced. Especially when it looks like there’s less for America to be proud of at the moment…..

Just goes to show when teams don’t sit so deep we can play our game more easily and effectively. And it’s fun to watch. In the Prem almost all our opponents sit in low block and look to counter. It makes the games less exciting - This season there have been more 0-0 draws than the whole of the last.

I’d like to see Jesus come on for Gyok to pull their centre-backs around a bit more, 🪮 combine with Nelly and win a few set pieces too!

Yeah
Can’t help thinking Cunha or Mbeumo would have shrugged that challenge off and slotted it home. For a big guy he needs more strength…

It’s an interesting stat - Do you think this is due to us trying to be more progressive in our shape to create better attacking opportunities?
Last season we had a lot of clean sheets but it didnt feel like we were creating a lot of chances…

So chuffed to see that! - hopefully will unlock some confidence…

Should have been won by a bigger margin, but so great to see Gyokeres score and I’d back us to bring this home at the Emirates 😊

But it’s still a part of the conversation - if we just listen to idiot hypocrites like Roy Keane we don’t get the full picture.

Yeah - Slot’s interview on it was well said - the trouble is players constantly faking injury to run down the clock or play for cards (Nelly himself is not shy of a few ‘hand-in-the-air’ creative injury moments. He didn’t know Bradley’s was real,

I agree it’s unacceptable. But listen to Slot’s interview on this - the problem is so many players faking injury to run the clock out at the end of games. Teams do this all the time especially against the big clubs. If Martinelli knew the injury was real he would never have behaved like this.
