So there was a huge Aurora going on (mainly during daylight in New Zealand), but there was another burst of energy around 9pm tonight when it was Kp7. I met some lovely Otago students at Blackhead Dunedin who were on their first aurora hunt. I didn't disappoint. 🇳🇿

Excuse my ignorance— but since putting a constraint on data to be private is actually doing more harm to the validity of science being presented, why is this a decision that everybody not questioning? In other words, why can't the data be public from day 1?
