They also have Wizard of Oz animatronics every so often, all of which have nightmare-inducing faces.

That was surely healthier for us but a bit disappointing. Anyway, we made our way all the way through the entire labyrinth, which has a Wizard of Oz theme, wherein you follow the yellow brick road through the store.

My cousin and I are spending a delightful day at the absolutely bonkers Country Junction General Store. It truly is enormous, and I enjoy a day at IKEA or King of Prussia Mall. We came for a Mac and cheese completion but only 6 entrants showed up, apparently over 20 just ghosted.

A 2x2 square shelf is full of pet supplies. In front of it and to the side are pet bowls of food and water. And then you notice that in the upper left cubby is a calico cat loaf.

Took me a minute.

Every time I leave the house I am more and more glad I decided to get a dash cam. Today’s fun included two BMWs racing each other in and out of 3 lanes of highway traffic with no turn signals at 10:30 in the morning.

I am less and less tolerant of heat every year and I’m getting tired of it. I went to the grocery store and just bringing in 3 bags of groceries and putting them away wiped me out. Now I’m sitting here feeling like I’ve been on my feet in the heat all day. I’m so exhausted.

I had a migraine all weekend and last night I figured I’d do better taking a sick day today than stressing all night and hoping I’d feel better - which is not conducive to rest and healing. I felt shitty this morning but better now, and it was such a gorgeous day.

Note to self: it was a beautiful evening for a walk to the park, and I’m sure Layla enjoyed the fascinating smells, but I forgot it’s trash night, and it was a bit of a stinky walk.

I’m watching the new Netflix documentary about the FLDS and I am so incredibly grateful to have been raised to question authority and never submit to anyone, especially a man. Watching these little girls submit to these grown men, thinking their soul is at stake - it’s heartbreaking.

The dog, who actually does have arthritis because she is old, doesn’t even prefer the memory foam bed I got her. Unless the vet says otherwise, I think her sleeping options are fine.

My cats sleep upside down on the floor when there are fifty other sleeping options, including a nice mattress that is good enough for my human arthritis.

Somehow I think they are fine without a hundred dollar heated bed.

If you want to make money, just appeal to pet parents.

I keep seeing these ads for ergonomic heated cats beds saying “your cat probably has arthritis and you’re abusing them by not buying this heated memory foam bed.”

So I may wind up having a cage of angry rats, and that’s okay with me. They can live out their days just as spoiled as the rest of my pets, just without snuggles. It’s a far better life than where they came from! Eating organic berries and Trader Joe’s risotto.

And some of them are absolutely hysterical when it comes to picking them up, they wiggle and shriek, so they may not be adoptable either. It takes two people to wrangle them because they’re just so jumpy and I’m not having another loose rat.

Still not sure which rat is the aggressive one, none of them lunge at the gloves but I’m nervous to stick my hand in there without them. She yearns for flesh!

Did a big clean of the foster rat commune today, checked everyone over, and put the momma rats and the former fugitive back into gen pop. Found one girl with a healing wound and took her out so I can treat it. Babies are ready for adoption, they’re almost as big as their tiny moms!
