interesting recession indicator I just spotted: the year is 2026, and the recession began in 2007 and at no point did it meaningfully abate for the vast, vast majority of people

have you ever listened to a record without turning on the amplifier? some of em actually sound BETTER this way
"Well, all sound is made the same way, including electronic and digital sound. And that is by getting molecules in the air moving… molecules are neutral, they don't give a damn what's making them move."

Todd is a good follow
It’s a good question, let’s clear the air:
1) Disco is awesome, like 25 all-time classic tracks in a 4 year span,
2) Disco was hated because it was queer, brown, and black,
3) Disco was hated because it paired women and men in a different power dynamic.
4) “Disco Sucks” was a “ MAGA” test run.
gives me space to start thinking abt what i am putting out for the la squadra 10yr anniversary. ofc i don't even use that name anymore. maybe there's a way to use it in the name of the release so it shows up in searches? ack!
that's a wrap on prime cuts.
if i had intended to make an issue 10, i would have numbered the first issue 01 instead of 1
this small detail has a profound effect on the order that the albums will show up in when sorted alphabetically
i ignored the BASIC convention for line numbering at my own peril
prob not gonna get it together to release the next issue prime cuts on schedule (woulda been April 8)
chronologically this aligns with the increasing severity of my chronic illnesses reducing my capacity to create or perform music, so at least it's on theme.
i still want to continue the project tho.
Again, I cannot endorse the work of Kai Cheng Thom enough. For example this article.

i am not suggesting to add an additional transducer to the cartridge for this purpose, i merely assert that is lacking as a simulacra of the original phenomenon
a digital vinyl system can't replicate beatmatching and mixing no-headphone by listening to the hi-hats coming off the needle.
if you have never experienced this, ask an old head to show you.

The problem with Long COVID is that most of society would rather not see it. We want to believe the pandemic was just a bad dream we awoke from years ago...The truth is we’re still stuck there — and our collective denial is causing devastating harm. [C19] is still disabling people indiscriminately.
update: it's been a week and it's still just me

All I know is that if Kamala had won, the extraction of resources to directly feed the billionaire class would have gone on in a far more orderly manner
reaper still works on a core duo, motu firewire drivers are fine, snow leopard is more stable and usable than linux. safari is unusable and app store doesn't work but there are other options. more importantly the polycarbonate shell and lcd are still in great shape and the battery holds a charge.
