They tell me that as soon as they noticed the original on-air reference, they cut the line from the following day’s repeat, Sunday’s omnibus, and the podcast version.
I hope that reassures you somewhat.

I’m only a freelance writer, not speaking officially on behalf of #TheArchers. But I do understand how insensitive this must have seemed.
The problem is that the episode would have been finished weeks ago and then sent off ready for broadcast. So the reference was just not in anybody’s mind.
