I truly believe that the world would be a much better place if Victoria Wood was still in it. www.theguardian.com/stage/2026/a...
Light jacket!
Everyone involved should be thoroughly ashamed of themselves.
My genealogy problem is that my maternal great grandmother, Sarah, died young (in awful circs) and my great grandfather, Barnett but also known as Benjamin, immediately married another woman also named Sarah. And no one spoke English so all census information through a third party.
All The Colours Of The Dark by Chris Whitaker is 99p for Kindle. An immersive, heart-hurting literary crime novel which felt really iconic. Weirdly it gave me A Little Life vibes, a book I hated but I loved this one. I’m a complex creature! amzn.to/4vl7e4A
One of my favourite books of recent years, The Husbands by Holly Gramazio, is 99p for Kindle. A woma’s attic starts generating infinite husbands, which quickly becomes as exhausting as it sounds. amzn.to/4sSUrof
At least we’re using our screen time in the pursuit of knowledge, I guess!
¡Marchamos al amanecer!
I wish I wasn’t so goal orientated but I’m doing thirty minutes a day to maintain my position in the Diamond League as it is!
Yes but no triple points anymore for completing two of the daily tasks and you only get the bonus xp if you get all the answers right. Such a swizz!
Duolingo have changed their daily points system and not only am I furious about it, I’m enojada about it in Spanish too.
In Marian Keyes we trust! If you loved The Walsh Sisters on BBC1, then it may interest you to know that The Mystery Of Mercy Close, Helen Walsh's story, is currently 99p for Kindle. amzn.to/4vCzBv5

I didn't have doing a deep dive on the Avignon Papacy as one of the items on my to-do list for today but here we are...
I adore this series and implore you to read them all if you haven't but anyways, Once, Twice, Three Times An Aisling (the third book but you could read it as a standalone, oh go on!) is currently 99p for Kindle. amzn.to/4voNg99

Yes, I’ve had a similar thing with a writer who told me she owed a great debt to one of mine. Weirdly never mentioned it in any of the press she did 🤔
I love Eva Ibbotson’s The Morning Gift so much that I wrote an introduction to an earlier edition. It’s easily in my top five favourite books of all time and is currently 99p for Kindle. amzn.to/4snPOl2
Jane! I would have asked them when they wanted to send a courier to collect it. Not your circus, not your monkeys.

A life well lived.
If you like your love stories to be on the literary side but still full of tenderness, pathos and dryly funny, then Consider Yourself Kissed will hit your sweet spots. It's currently 99p for Kindle. amzn.to/4mbb2kD
Rachel Joyce’s latest novel, the compulsive and darkly funny The Homemade God about the suspicious death of an artist who’s just taken a young wife and the subsequent fallout for his deeply weird adult children, is currently 99p for Kindle. amzn.to/3Occyqd
Could be it 200 page shorter? Yes. But as a former lady-magger, I think you'll enjoy it.
Since September, I’ve been editing rather than writing. But today I started a new book and it felt so good to be making words appear on a page again. I love it so much. (Remind me of this 50,000 words from now when I’m tormented by my sagging middle section.)
Absolutely honking here. Poor Rory. So cruelly maligned.
