Text on a blue background which reads: On a dark and moonless night, Kagero is the lone guard watching over the Hoshidan army camp. Her compatriots sleep with full bellies after a dinner of roasted boar and stone fruit harvested near the campsite, a deserved reward after the day’s successful skirmish on the Nohrian border. Smoke trails from the cooking fire still burning, which muddles Kagero’s view of the stars. She tucks her hands behind her back, trying not to play with the wakizashi tucked into her belt. A ninja must not give into boredom, no matter how peaceful the night is. After all, a Nohrian spy or wild animal could take advantage of a tired guard’s complacency after her army’s victory. Kagero rests her eyes for a moment and resolves to sharpen her focus. She recalls Lord Ryoma’s advice about meditative breathing, picturing a drop of water falling into a pond. Inhale. Perfect circles radiate from the center. Exhale. Another drop plummets. Inhale. A shriek rings out sharply in the dark.

I enjoyed portraying Midori and the boys

Illustration focused on Takumi and Sakura in kyuudo training garbs in the castle's garden, Sakura holding up her yumi clumsily while Takumi tries to correct her. In the back Subaki and Hana can be seen cheering, while in the bottom background under a tree Ryoma and Hinoka are observing attentively at their younger siblings.

I was dying to share the piece I made for @fefateszine.bsky.social! I've always been a fan of the Hoshidan siblings, specially the relationship between Takumi and Sakura.
