15% of fossil fuels extracted each year are used to make fertiliser, run farms, process foods and transport them. In a very real sense our food is made from oil and gas.

We are about to feel a very painful food shock.

Something extraordinary – yet predictable – has happened over recent days on Facebook.

Fake accounts that usually post anti-immigrant and anti-Muslim content generated using AI to fuel division and hate in UK are now pushing out AI-gen content asking:

"Should the UK produce its own fuel again?"

Keep the ban on the Executive parties. Pride is our protest not their photo opportunity.

Last year we called for the Executive parties to be banned from Pride festivals and almost every pride festival agreed. In the year since, they have made no progress.

People are done with the same old parties.
5% is our highest Lucid Talk polling ever.

And we’re only getting started. 💚

Beautifully captured. I watch a pair myself this morning at the Floodgates in Newtownards. Lovely to have them back.

As it stands, when a university makes people redundant, it's not as if the workload disappears with the worker. The workload falls on the shoulders of the already exhausted, demoralised staff that remain. Universities can't cut their way to excellence. Cuts are a deterioration.

1/2 Ulster University’s plan to cut up to 450 jobs is devastating for staff, students and the wider community. Our thoughts are with everyone affected. These are not just numbers - they are livelihoods, learning, and futures at risk.

Ulster University has announced plans for 450 redundancies. The university, that just a few weeks ago gave Arnold Schwarzenegger an honorary doctorate, apparently for his remarkable contributions to public service, is being gutted.

This is a huge missed opportunity, public transport is already too expensive in NI.

With rising fuel costs, public transport should be cheaper. Over 30% in Belfast don't have access to a car, it's also a class issue.

Reduce costs, get people moving, reduce emissions & improve air quality as well

Positive news, my amendment calling on Belfast City Council to enter negotiations with the Department of Health to deliver drug testing at festivals has been agreed at committee.

This is about saving lives, harm reduction, and giving people the information they need to make informed decisions.

Calls for Executive Office to publish clerical abuse report provided to FM and DFM nine months ago The research was first commissioned by the Executive a decade ago, while victims groups have repeatedly called for the report to be published in recent months

Why won’t they publish the report into clerical child abuse?

That’s a rhetorical question by the way.

We need safer speeds for Northern Ireland The DfI is consulting on bold plans to review speed limits to make our roads safer for cycling. It’s a crucial opportunity to save lives on our roads. If you use this link, it only takes a minute to respond and support safer streets.

The US military has 22 sites in the UK.

Every day long range US bombers are taking off here to drop bombs on Iran.

This is a rogue state carrying out war crimes, and threatening more.

The UK Government must grow a spine - and stop our bases being used for this war.

It's now been 3 hours since our supposed "ally" Donald Trump threatened genocide on a country of 93 million people.

We've had absolutely nothing from the UK government.

This doesn't come in a vacuum either - every day the US & Israel have been murdering innocent people.

Hydrogen heating needs 2 units of electricity to make 1 unit of heat.

A heat pump makes 3 units of heat using 1 unit of electricity.

Trying to heat homes with hydrogen is just daft. Government needs to put the concept out of its misery.

Our 'Amazon Tax' would use the Non-Domestic Rates system to make large online-based retail businesses pay their fair share towards the communities and local economies that host them.

The tax system should work for all of Scotland’s communities, not just for the wealthy.

Ed Miliband to give green light to first major North Sea gasfield project in decade | LBC The energy secretary is expected to approve Jackdaw drilling as the Iran war puts pressure on the government over energy security fears

New fossil fuel licences aren't going to cut your bills, or keep the country's energy system secure. They're just going to let big polluters extract more profit, while deepening the climate emergency. www.lbc.co.uk/article/ed-m...

1 in 5 MLAs are landlords. Many councillors & their family members also are.

Is there the political will to tackle the housing crisis? The housing crisis in NI has been created by the 5 parties who have been in power for 28 years.

Connect the dots. It’s not the fault of minority communities.
