DEI is under attack, but the stakes are higher than many realize. Universities *must stand firm* in defending it. I lay out why in my latest piece for Nature.
Silence is complicity. Without DEI, we fail our students, our research, and our future.

Malcolm Kenyatta has the fire we desperately need in the Democratic Party. His voice is bold, his vision is clear, and his energy is unstoppable. Listen to him speak—let his words fill you with the power to rise up, organize, and fight like hell for our future.
LFG! 🔥👏🏻

The Biden admin just canceled federal student loans for 55,000 workers through the Public Service Loan Forgiveness program.
The cancellation targets teachers, nurses, service members, law enforcement and others who have worked 10 years or more in government or nonprofit jobs.
NEW: Women experiencing pregnancy loss in states with abortion bans told us they wished they had known what to expect and how to advocate for themselves.
We created this guide for anyone who finds themselves in the same position. ⤵️

We don’t hunt, so we’re surprised to find out that hunting is allowed in state parks. Found the kiddos some orange vests asap!
Our two pups, Sammy and Charlie, laying on their sides next to each other on the couch. Sammy is 4 year old a black lab mix, wearing a red Christmas sweater. Charlie, our 13 year old super mutt that favors a shepherd of some kind, isn’t wearing anything but is still just as cute
@actioncookbook.com this one was too good to pass up for you. Charlie, on the right, is 13 and isn’t much of a snuggler with Sammy (decked out in her sweater!), who’s 4, was our pandemic pup. We always get excited when they end up close to each other

A couple weeks ago I had the honor of speaking at Earlham College with the Trans Student Union in a cozy chat and a larger chat open to the general population. I loved seeing the work that these students are doing in caring for each other. The kids are gonna be alright y'all.
Jeremy D. Nickel, class of 1999, on the present lack of a campus Palestine solidarity encampment at Earlham: “You wont find my college on any of the lists of US University encampments…because they did the hard work of divesting from weapons manufacturers long ago, and have a long track record of working for peace in Israel/Palestine by supporting the Ramallah Friends School and other very real activism and education, like their amazing Peace and Global Studies program. So if you know someone looking for a college that truly lives progressive values, tell them to check out Earlham College, a school you can be proud to hold a diploma from.”
Some days I remember that my college was and is awesome.
The better question for folks is what to name her
