Tucker Carlson had a Palestinian Christian activist living in the West Bank on his latest show to talk about the situation there for half an hour. This is not to “hand it to him”, you don’t need to “hand it to” anyone in media, independent or otherwise. But why is this being left to him

Rabbi who boasts of bulldozing Palestinian homes will light torch for Israel’s national day Human rights campaigners say honour for Avraham Zarbiv endorses ethnic cleansing and war crimes

Ethnic cleansing used to be Israel's surreptitious policy. Today, it is Israel's in-our-face pride and joy. Time to ban Israel from every international organisation, like we banned Apartheid South Africa. Enough is enough! www.theguardian.com/world/2026/a...

University of Queensland directs UQP to cancel & pulp an Aboriginal writer's environmental-focused book for children. Jazz Money has done nothing wrong and doesn't deserve to be treated this way. Her book is important for young readers. Shameful

Taking from disabled people to give to people in aged care is a cynical political exercise from Labor.

Pitting people who genuinely need care against each other while leaving $17 billion in the pockets of gas corporations they’re too cowardly to tax is shameful.

Well, I guess this is my first ever piece of breaking news - probably the biggest rare plant story in Australia this year. Over at @tasinquirer.bsky.social.

April 21 is World Curlew Day.
This photo is from a few years ago when I found a small group of overwintering Far Eastern Curlews at Port Clinton, Yorke Peninsula.
Three types of ‘true’ curlews can be seen in Australia: the Little Curlew, Whimbrel and Far Eastern Curlew.
Gorgeous birds!

too many people simply do not understand there is a couple of decades worth of military recruits who joined to kill muslims. Not everyone joined to kill muslims after 2001, but a fucking shit ton of people did. And they were not silent about it - they got the fucken crusader-aligned tattoos FFS.

Even if you can’t immediately place the name Barbara Triggs, if you grew up in Australian and are in any way inclined to spending time outdoors and appreciating wildlife you’ve almost certainly comes across a copy of “Scats, Tracks, and Other Traces” - it’s arguably THE Australian field guide.

Seriously as a cis-gendered heterosexual man who loves kids because I’m a normal human, one of the first things I learned as an adult was to not look too closely at kids, not pay attention to kids, not talk to kids I don’t know, not pause to watch a few minutes of kids sports etc. And it sucks!
