The longer people wait for dental surgery, the more painful and severe their needs become. Because of LD 2123, kids and adults on MaineCare will be able to get the care they need faster.

Shows an article clipping from the Portland Press Herald. Headline reads "Biddeford woman runs Boston Marathon in honor of late mother". The image shows Jessica Johnson from a previous Boston Marathon.
Good luck to all the runners at the Boston Marathon on Monday! Biddeford's own Jessica Johnson will be participating once again. She has done a tremendous job raising money for cancer research in honor of her mom, Dorothy. Please join me in wishing her luck!

With the work of the 132nd Legislature nearing completion, I thanked representatives for their diligence and dedication to serving Maine people. I hope as they return to their communities, they are reminded of their 'why.'
"Drywall material and electrical equipment for the Freeport units...will carry a combined additional cost of $53,000 because they’re coming from Mexico...The company will pay $25,000 more for cabinets for the building than they would otherwise, as they’re shipped from Canada."
Here in Maine, we're telling big corporations our water and electric grid is not for sale. A pause on AI data centers gives us time to put guardrails in place so Mainers don't pay the price.

I'll be on NewsNation tonight to talk about the AI data center moratorium we just passed in Maine. Tune in tonight around 6:25.

The Ceremony of Lights is a time-honored tradition, recognizing legislators who are termed out or are not seeking reelection in the House. Thanks to all who have stepped up to represent their communities, be it for a few years or decades. We appreciate your dedication and wish you the best of luck.
This supplemental budget values Maine families, values Maine workers, and values Maine communities.

Text reads 'Supplemental Budget Passes". Standing on the far right is Speaker Ryan Fecteau. He is standing next to Rep. Drew Gattine, the House Chair of the Appropriations and Financial Affairs Committee.
Maine people want a budget that helps alleviate the rising costs of filling up their gas tanks, heating their homes, buying groceries, and affording child care. Democrats have heard Maine people, and we have fought for the things that will make a real difference for them.
16,000 Mainers (kids, working adults, veterans, the elderly) have lost their SNAP benefits since President Trump signed HR1. That's wrong. I'm fighting to make sure eligible Mainers can get the food they need for themselves and their families.
The average price of gas is now over $4 in Maine. Diesel is at $5.90 — $2 more than a year ago.

Happy Easter to everyone celebrating today! I hope you are enjoying egg hunts, cherished family traditions and time spent with loved ones.
1/2 ➡️ Mainers want a fairer tax system, and they want that money invested in their kids and communities. Maine's budget committee delivered on that promise. There are votes to come, but this is a great moment for tax fairness. #mepolitics www.pressherald.com/2026/04/02/j...
The Legislature’s AFA Committee has voted 8-4 to advance a supplemental budget focused on protecting essential services, delivering targeted relief, and meeting the state’s obligations in a challenging fiscal environment. See my statement and what's included here ⬇️
In the wealthiest nation on earth, it is time we actually show up for our own communities. Our low-income neighbors, our seniors, our veterans, our young people, and every person who is sick of the obligation falling more and more onto property taxes.
They voted for a 2% surcharge on the portion of income above $1M. Instead of decimating investments in communities and people, we are solidifying funding for the future that helps Mainers and local governments afford healthcare, energy, housing and education. 🧵
Washington is gutting funding for education, healthcare, food assistance, energy, etc. and using the “savings” to give tax breaks to the wealthiest Americans. But here in Maine, leaders on Appropriations are putting Maine people first. 🧵

“Today’s ruling from the Court is dangerous. It legitimizes an overwhelmingly discredited practice that causes harm to young people. Here in Maine, we will continue to stand by LGBTQ+ youth and their families. Maine’s law still has ways to hold these quacks accountable for harming children. So-called ‘conversion therapy’ has been disavowed by major mental health organizations and for a reason – it is wrong. Despite this ruling from the nation’s highest court, I want young people to know they are not alone. I see, support, and celebrate you for exactly who you are. You do not need to be changed.”
Today, the Supreme Court ruled against a Colorado law banning ‘conversion therapy’ for LGBTQ+ minors. My statement on the ruling ⬇️
This is just a taste of the headlines during last year's record 43-day federal government shutdown. My bill, LD 2122, would prevent families from going hungry when Washington plays politics with their benefits.
Check out my latest monthly newsletter. In it, there's an update about bills I'm championing this session, a timely reminder for Biddeford residents and more.

And this is one of the reasons I fully support a bell-to-bell ban on cell phones in school.
Maine Maple Sunday weekend highlights one of the state's most delicious traditions. Sugarhouses have big plans for the 43rd year of festivities-- sweet treats, tours, demos and more!

It’s funny to me that a man who basically called NATO irrelevant and useless is now begging for its help to save face for his ill-conceived war with Iran.
At a time when many are struggling to keep up with rising medical costs, I proposed a bill to ensure Mainers can get the healthcare coverage and services they need. By funding specific initiatives, including support for our rural providers, we can strengthen and protect Maine's healthcare system.
My bill to help Maine people afford health insurance and strengthen rural health care is moving forward! Advocates testified to the number of Mainers dropping coverage because they can't afford it. That's not right. This bill will help those families and the healthcare system across Maine.
