I started. It's still empty and looks like trash, but I started. Are blogs still cool?

I wanted to learn bookbinding, so I made a sketchbook out of trash! This is about 33 Aldi bags and a LaCroix box. Not bad for a first attempt with no special tools or materials. Really gratifying to recycle all that paper instead of tossing it out.

A photo of an avocado Crock-Pot, proudly standing next to a smaller avocado Crock-Pot. Behind them looms a crowd of avocado Tupperware canisters. One gets the feeling the poster longs for the halcyon days of her 1970s youth, but no, she was not even a thought then.

My sister found my Crock-Pot's long lost son. ๐Ÿฅน
And they match the avocado Tupperware canisters!

Sew a button back on a shirt. Dye a blanket that got stained. Sand and stain an end table that got scratched. Format an old iPod. The gift is continued use and appreciation of a well loved item.
Everyone brings food because potlucks make everything better.

Most holidays are dumb and bad. I propose a new one.
Mending Day. Mendsday, if you will.
You gather with loved ones and you each bring one item you want to mend and you fix them together.

Moss stitch (1 single crochet, 1 chain) worked in the round. I really like working in the round when I don't know how big a piece will be. I didn't make a gauge swatch. Just bought out an entire colorway of this variegated yarn and went with it. I really like how it turned out.

When white Americans say "Well, if X country is so great, then why don't they go back?" with no sense of irony whatsoever.

I've wanted one of these weirdos forever, but they're a bit pricey. "Luckily", I found myself at the nursery with my worst enabler when I came across this staghorn fern today. I love him.

I'm 36 years old. Every day that I don't have children makes me even more grateful that I don't have children.

Dropped my Prime subscription over a year ago. Haven't bought anything from Amazon in months. I really haven't missed it.

You can ditch Amazon. It's actually quite easy and you'll save a lot of money. It's self care.

The same folks who compared every day of the Biden admin to 1984 (while clearly never having read it) are unironically cheering on the disappearing of folks committing "thoughtcrimes" without due process.

I kept telling myself to take my front door wreath down before the robin's finished building their nest in it and laid eggs, but I loved seeing their progress as a happy little sign of spring. Anyway, as of this morning, there's a few little eggies in there! I can wait to see the baby birbs!

I'd be happy to work on it with you! I've wanted to build one for myself. Let me know if you wanna come over sometime for dinner and a Pi-Hole ๐Ÿ˜‚ my treat on both

If you're savvy you could use a Raspberry Pi to make a Pi-Hole, which blocks ad server IPs at the network level, so none of your devices will get ads.

I hate it when people try to pronounce "Uranus" all respectably.

Kansas City doesn't have enough jobs available for all the federal workers getting laid off Federal workers in Kansas City whose jobs were eliminated under the Trump administration's massive budget cuts will have a hard time finding comparable work in the area. Instability in the city's work...

A labor economist told KCUR's Up To Date that Kansas City does not have enough available jobs in the area to make up for all the local federal workers getting laid off by the Trump administration.
