And yes, he was the interviewee :)
Really awesome dev and generally great guy (his thing was memorising pi, I think he was up to 200 digits at the time :) ).

Speaking of guys in capes, when I was working for the software house, on the way into work one of the other guys spotted a dude wearing a cape and a top hat sitting on the curb down the road, we knew there was somebody being interviewed that day and our response was all "wouldn't it be funny if"...
That is the one redeeming factor here :)
But still, without seeing them close up they could be mistaken for other sunglasses.
Usually I blame such things on a lack of coffee :)

And before something even more stupid happens with any luck...
I keep telling people, he misspoke, he meant to say "Free Speech ABOLITIONIST"...
100%
Such a pity that smarmy prick wasn't in the office that fateful day...
And even if he did he is guaranteed to get bored and go off on a tangent about his ballroom within about 30 seconds at my guess.
Here's hoping that it's not just *sounding like*...
Yeah, I was considering running a book on how long it would take for him to tangent off to that...
Also, be aware that there are other Meta glasses from Oakley which are a bit more discrete...

Yup, presumably one of the "forbidden words" on the DOGE list :/

I will take this glimmer in the darkness, thank you for being the bearer of good news.
Probably closer than any of us REALLY want to know :(
Oh I'm sure that's going on, just like I'm sure that Amazon "walking away" from the Flock partnership was just Amazon realising that they had miscalculated and "walking away" from *talking about it publicly*...
Yeah, nor did I until I was enlightened after making a remark to the effect that "at least those fucking hideous RayBans are easy to spot" :/
yeah, that does seem a bit odd to me... maybe he's marveling at how completely unfuckable the glasses make him?
That's pretty much their business model, no?
The newer ones from Oakley are even worse :/ (as in harder to identify)

Not to mention would you really WANT a selfie wearing those hideous things?
IMO there's basically one use-case for these fucking things and it's creeping.
Yup, unfortunately the newer ones from the likes of Oakley are actually getting to be pretty discrete which is IMO very bad...

I mean it's right there in the band name DEVO*lution*.
And a waiver in the fine print stating that you will be unable to press charges against anybody who punches you for wearing them.
Certainly there's documented cases of creepers with Meta glasses getting punched in the face.
Love this for them...
Here's hoping...
Indeed, "oh wait *I* can personally benefit from this *all in*"
*the whims of one man and the billionaire oligarch arseholes who ensured he'd be installed.
