A large rock formation on the edge of a town that has numerous pockmarks visible across much of the rock. The rock is a part of the Meteora geological formation, which formed via sedimentary processes roughly 60 million years ago, and features 24 monasteries carved into the rock in the middle ages.
One of the monasteries built into the side of the rock, the Monastery of St. Nicholas of Mpantovas source: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Monastery_of_St._Nicholas_of_Mpantovas
