For a while, Kaveh was rooted to the spot, partly because he wasn’t sure how welcome he was or when Nilou might revoke her invitation, and partly out of the admiration that she had managed to make her living off of art so successfully. She hadn’t needed to straddle academia in the process. She didn’t need to look for art in the cracks of the sciences and heft it out to prove its worth in some sort of compromise; she knew it existed and channeled it as it was. And, perhaps, partly because he was looking for the grief, the emptiness, in any nook or cranny he could lay his eyes on, and he was seized with an unsettling confusion when he realized he couldn’t find any. at the bottom of the graphic is a picture of a padisarah. the background of the graphic is a mostly transparent palace of alcazarzaray.
