Clinical Phenotypes Associated With White Matter Microstructural Abnormalities Across Early Psychoses Psychosis consists of multiple overlapping clinical symptoms (positive, negative, and cognitive) sharing commonalities in treatment response, familial liability, and risk genes, not only among each other but also with various neurodevelopmental disorders. Despite the reification of conventional diagnostic entities such as schizophrenia and psychotic bipolar disorder as defined by the DSM with its categorical approach, these confusingly coinciding symptom-based psychosis diagnoses both are a poor mirror of nature and fail to reveal biologically meaningful differences among groups (1,2).
