Saw James Galdolfini in a crowded dive bar. Tried to subtly take a photo from across the room, but it came out blurry. He died a few months later.

Finally got around to watching Fantastic Four: First Steps. Pretty good movie! Not quite as good as Superman, though.

Any other comic book movies from 2025 worth watching?

For the low, low price of $1bn per year, I will tell Zuckerberg when his ideas are terrible before he wastes $77bn on them.

The @manruss.bsky.social Flintstones series is really good. After reading the first issue on my own, I thought it might be fun to read it with my 9 y/o daughter. Good thing I kept reading before suggesting it. The "sex cave" issue would've been really awkward to read with her.

Okay, I know I'm about 20 years late, but I finally got around to reading Planetary and I am now ready to discuss it.

Creator Spotlight: Steve Gerber During the 1970s, when superhero comics often followed familiar formulas, Gerber brought a new kind of voice to the medium, one that was surreal, satirical, and fiercely personal.

The more I go back and reread old comics, the more I realize how underrated Steve Gerber is on the comic creator pantheon. Such a weird and brilliant writer. maximocomics.com/blogs/news/c...

The storylines were only so-so (as I recall), but the use of color on these Spectacular Scarlet Spider covers is really nice. #spiderman #90scomics #marvelcomics

Anyone know why Marvel decided to have such inconsistent logo treatments around 1996ish? The stretching of logos and placing them vertical sometimes seemed like an odd artistic choice back then, and still does.

The spacing between the "O" and the "V" in "NOVA" would give my Typography professor an aneurysm.

All in all, it was more enjoyable than I expected, but I wanted even more craziness.

Does the cast include Delroy Lindo and a young Jason Statham? Indeed.

Does it feature cool action sequences set to "Let the Bodies Hit the Floor" and "Down with the Sickness"? Sure does. How about a kung fu fight between two doppelgangers while a shower of sparks fall from the sky? Yep, it has that too.

I think we need to talk about The One (2001) starting Jet Li. This movie is simultaneously incredible and kinda terrible.

Remembering Some Comics: Punisher #47 It was early 1991, and my friend Dan and I were out walking around aimlessly, as 11-year-olds in the Philadelphia suburbs did in early 1991. It was as good a way as any to pass the time back then, esp...

Let's remember some comics! Starting with The Punisher #47 from 1991, which is simultaneously completely forgettable and also the most important comic I ever read... maximocomics.com/blogs/news/r...
