When reading this article, consider the median average revenue of a single McDonald's location in 2021 was $3.3 million. There are four RPG companies in the world that bring in meaningfully more money than a single McDonald's. Lots of incredible companies bring in way less than a single McDonald's.
The dirt and wood chips under my fingernails from digging out from my poorly constructed coffin have formed some kind of protective blistery layer and now lacqueristas are trying to hunt me down for my ghoulish secret

I dreamt last night there was a game on my itch that I had not designed - called The Marrow - with thousands of views and downloads. I do not know what kind of game it was. I could not look at the page without my computer growling and shaking.
What was the Marrow? What are its secrets?

Regular reminder that none of us in the TTRPG space are in competition with one another. We are ALL in competition with obscurity, uncertainty, confusion, and other ways to spend your time.
And sometimes D&D.
Happy New Year to those who experience time linearly
I hope you learned your lesson #doodle
I've been having similar thoughts. I think an ambience track is fun but hard to coordinate with play, as the pace is not as nearly controlled. I think an opening or closing theme would be awesome, and inspirational tracks otherwise for the space "surrounding" the game would be lit.

Three stylized women with unique outfits and powers stand confidently in front of a circular backdrop, exuding strength and unity. Pink purple and gray, the girl on the left has a clock hand, the middle girl has a sword made of fingers, and the right girl has hands and eyes forming from her hair. Text reads "Megalopolis Girl Squad."
I wouldn't even know where to start dawg. Time got fuckin ripped to shreds in this one

My 2025 Freelance retrospective is out.
I got to work on some cool things, and have seen a lot of growth. If your curious what a year in a ttrpg freelancer's life can look like then check out the post
Whenever I'm on holiday, the games I'm not working on move to the forefront of my mind. I really want to tackle this idea for a Craig of the Creek / Recess / KND "kidpunk" game, and I think I figured out how to approach the "Kid Niche" concept in these media without corralling players /w playbooks!
